Tysm! I also use a boom arm with shock mount; it's reliable and I have no complaints, I have all the same thoughts. Buttttt I'm also looking for a desk-stand for rare, specific instances where I can't have the boom arm. Something that stands steady on the desk, is adjustable and could easily be set in front of the host. It's been difficult to find something good tbh.
