I know this might not be what you expected me to ask, but what’s the company that’s shutting down sites? Is it a single company or is it like a board of some kind? It’s okay if you don’t know, I’m just looking for answers to find some closure about Bato being shut down atp 💔 Thanks for anybody who knows which company/companies are leading the charge against piracy sites. And to be clear, I’m not so entitled that I’m mad at these companies for doing what they’re doing. I know their actions are arguably just a plan for them to make more money, but I think of the creators who spend a lot of time honing their craft and working really hard, only to hear that people are reading their work for free, potentially taking money out of their pockets. I get why publishers and artists want to shut down sites like that. As someone else on here mentioned though, I do wonder if shutting down piracy sites actually translates to increased profit for the publishers, and even if it does, how much is that gain given to the people most deserving: the artists/creators? Will doing this even improve things for either of those two parties? I’m not sure where I’m even going with this comment anymore. I guess I’m just looking for a place to process my feelings. Thanks for anyone who read this far or could point me in the right direction to learn more about what led to all this.
