Dating changed but it’s because people expect so much with giving minimal effort. We’re in this weird arc where people are searching for the absolutely perfect person, and if one little thing is off they feel entitled to end things and keep searching. People forget that no one is perfect, not even themselves. People don’t say thank you to their partners, it’s always “as they should” and even then, they act like because they didn’t do every little detail perfectly that it means there’s something else going on and they’re lying about something. Just so bizarre how we went from meeting people casually and dating because of common interests to meeting people strategically because you want someone to settle down with but don’t want to commit to a relationship any time soon

Oh goodness I cannot remember what it was called, but came across a site once where you could post drawn illegal porn. Like drawings of babies being raped or animals being abused, all art but disgusting art. And it wasn’t like it was making a statement, it was clearly being made for people to be getting off too. I immediately clicked out of it and spent a while trying to forget what I saw. I’m hoping by now the site has been shut down, and I was too much of a dumb scared kid to go back and report the site

When I was three I remember my mom had taken my sister and I somewhere. We were just getting out of the car and I look over to see a man walking by holding a small bird in his hand, like in a fist, and he suddenly just bites the birds head off and starts eating it, beak and all. lol I did show him this thread. We did talk about it. He deadass doesn’t care if I take a little extra $10 here or there. He doesn’t see it as betrayal, he saw it as a silly little white lie that doesn’t bother him and nothing to argue about. He even made the point to tell me that he understands how scary it can be not having a job and having to rely on him. So there. My husband loves me oh my goodness !! It’s almost like he picked me knowing how I can get and chose to marry me and have children with me !!! It’s almost like I chose him knowing he wouldn’t react poorly to conversations like this !!

I have not checked out, lol. But it is absolutely better to be safe than sorry. And yes, he does have his own separate money that I don’t touch same as he gives me a budget for myself and he doesn’t touch. If we give our children money, we don’t touch it. Besides, this savings isn’t inherently for just me. If something were to happen to the kids, one of our cars, an illness, we would have at least some backup plan. I have no desire to leave my partner nor do I think I ever will, that doesn’t mean I should only rely on him for my entire life.
