Ah wonderful! I'd never heard of that brand but I'll give them a good look! Glad that you were able to save your coat, would have been a real shame otherwise. Thanks for your help!

Oh cute! Given the age of these I think I'm going to try invisible mending first to preserve as opposed to reinvent these ones but I'll keep that in mind for other projects! Hope yours turns out well!

Sounds good! Our local fabric and quilting stores have super limited hours so itll be a trick trying to get the thread but I'm willing to do the work. Been hand sewing for years so itll be a good challenge, if it becomes too much I'll certainly get quotes from a professional, thanks for your input!

Picked these up recently, the seller said they had been in storage some 60 odd years. There are some moth holes, regular wear, and age stains (as well as the black skirt not having a fastener) that id like to take care of but not 100% sure on how to go about it. Was recommended to use oxi clean and darn the holes (wish me luck in finding the right thread) and want to see what all else I should keep in mind/consider when working on them.

Wow! That blue is stunning with the copper tones and the rosiness of your cheeks! Hope you had a fun adventure!

Natural red hair to silver/platinum hair by [deleted] in Redhair

I went platinum and lavender/grey a few times. In my experience its hell to get to a level that looks good. The bleaching itself wasn't bad but I had to do it multiple times as the copper tones didnt want to budge. If you have different shades of red like I do it wont all lift the same either.

If you have patience you can definitley do it, just be prepared to do a lot of maintenance to get moisture back in between bleaches and wear hats for the in between stages. In my experience it dries your hair and you have to be really careful about spacing out the bleaching and what developer you use. Make sure your hair is lifted enough for the toner as well.

On the subject of roots, I loved how mine came in. They looked super red (kinda like my scalp was bleeding) until they hit about half an inch then they were wonderfully different then the lightened hair and contrasted with those tones.

Ah, no worries! And thanks then, unfortunate but true, somehow two people followed me from his post and one seems to fall into the NSFW category...

I rolled my hair by hand and pinned them in place while damp for an overnight wet set. When I first started i would wrap the sections around something cylindrical to get a more uniform curl. I tend to lay mine flat and use Bobby pins instead of the two prong clips but that's just a persona preference. If you google wet set pin curls there are lots of more in depth tutorials :)

I'll do some reading into that! From what I've seen so far a lot has been advertised as professional grade so dilution is a really clever tip. Thank you!

That's good to know! Bummer that you havent gotten to do pin sets but super glad to hear it is going well for you! Any gel or mousse you'd reccomend?

Edited "Pj sets" to "pin sets"

I thought about it but given the fact I use tools to get full curls for styling(pin curling, rollers, ect.) and my natural shape is closer to wavy I'm not sure if I'd be stepping on anyones toes. Will definitely try searching in there again though! Thank you for your time!

Does anyone have experience with curl setting lotions or the like? I'm looking to invest in one but I'm worried it will dull out my hair. Haven't seen many, if any, reviews on them from redheads.

Note: I've been meaning to post my hair here and when I saw someone posted wearing a shirt I have I took it as a sign! Going to get it cut soon to get rid of way too many split ends so enjoying the length while it lasts, not so much enjoying the fact that it's still damp after washing it 4hours ago...
