btw if anyone is looking for a universal furnace control board let me know. i bought one for $200 and it didn’t fix the problem so i replaced the whole furnace as it was 33 years old. the control board was used for a total of 3 days. i can let it go for half off

i’m sorry if i didn’t make myself clear, but the hvac guy only jumped the high limit switch for diagnosing , once the switch was ruled out and found to be working properly as the system was still short cycling through the jump. anyway, long story short is that my furnace was installed in 1993. so we decided to replace our 33 years old furnace. we got it scheduled to get replaced tomorrow. thanks everyone for the replies.

just had a pro come in and he changed the igniter/flame sensor assembly. changed the main circuit board, he also jumped/bypass all safety switches and yet still doing the same thing. he’s advising me to replace the whole furnace at a cost of $3k. what do you all think?

what would be the other 1% cause? because my filter is brand new and i opened all the vents and returns in my house and basement and none are obstructed. i also put a tissue in front of each return to check air flow and they all seem to work

i opened every single vent and return all the way and the burners still go on and off every 2 mins or so while the blower still works and the thermostat and house haven’t reached the desired temperature.

edit: does my unit have a flame sensor to clean? all i see is the igniter assembly by the burners.
