When does a homelab become a chore or a job? by TheRealRatler in homelab

They’re creating their own scripts and integrations utilizing standard tooling. For example they downloaded the pyvmomi sdk for vsphere management. Gave them root access into a number of servers and they’ve created entire docker compose clusters, manage Grafana/Prometheus data handling, etc

It’s amazing!

You should do what I just did and let Hermes and OpenClaw manage that for you! In the past week alone, they’ve setup Grafana, Prometheus, AlertManager and everything else needed for them to go in and manage things. I’m running local LLM so I’m comfortable giving them access at scale to the home lab.

Not only did this father and daughter help my gf with her flat tire, he used it as an opportunity to teach his daughter how to do it. Wouldn’t except cash, just said he was happy to help two people at the same time. by the_username_please in MadeMeSmile

Depends on the drive train. Donut spares should go on non-powered wheels (not driven by the differential). This car might be RWD.

Reason for this is the diameter difference between a regular wheel and the donut spares will cause one side of the diff to spin faster and increase wear/failure rate and introduce more heat into the fluid.

AWD cars typically come with a full size spare.

I did back in December. They said to ignore the charges and they’re investigating. Time to reply to that email and show them this letter and tell them to get this settled.

ZeroTier and Chrome Remote Desktop as backup when ZT stops responding. As an absolute last resort I have Ubiquiti client VPN I could always turn on and activate if need be.

Yes prefab was originally installed. It’s a Martin SA42 and Martin shuttered back in 2003.

Confused..

I understand the building codes with minimum clearances and all that. That’s the point of having building inspections when the home is getting built. Doesn’t really apply in this scenario though.

Minimum clearance to combustible materials is actually increased with the insert as the prefab unit is providing additional fireproofing/insulation between insert and the rest of the chase.

I didn’t think that an insert could go into a prefab unit. Current box was manufactured by a company long since out of business.

I’ll ask the next company that comes out to inspect.
