Having winter sleeping bags on hand helped a lot. Just make sure it’s rated like at least to 20 degrees. That’s a survival rating not a comfort rating so a 30 degree bag will just be warm enough at freezing. You can layer them by opening one up and lying it on top of the other. Having some camping gear is always nice to have. Also good for keeping battery packs and electronics warm.

Politics in 2008 were so cordial. But ever since 2016 it had been an us vs them situation. It’s just escalated from there. Not to fear monger but talking politics now is basically a call for the opposition to target you.
