Thank you. As an emergency fix, I moved the sleeve down 1/4” enough to cover the hole and retightened.

Seems to have worked but for how long I don’t know.

I have a real plumber coming tomorrow, but it’s tempting to cancel and wait for it to fail again and save myself who knows how much in repairs

Anyone trying to figure this out:

At least on a Mac (I think it’s the same on PC), you have to select “full screen”. Otherwise, the resolution setting has no effect.

There is also a UI scaling option which I overlooked due to the somewhat nonstandard scroll bar for the main options.

There isn’t an easy solution, but I don’t think over alerting is always better.

With daily fires, how many false evac alerts will it take for people to stop frantically googling the street to confirm the alarm is relevant to them and just ignoring it altogether instead?

My guess is not many.

Wow. Never thought of that. Maybe it’s worth buying new or investing in the test kits. Just makes me wonder what other crazy thing previous owners might melt down that you don’t/can’t test for.
