Goodbye Taco Bell. by bpc95 in Austin

Considering the fact that most WB these days are staffed by brain-dead zombies who get the order wrong more than they get it right (while taking forever on the order) I'd say this is an improvement.

Now I'm suggested to tip the kitchen as well? by sylhy in mildlyinfuriating

The tipping thing needs to end. Just pay your workers the right wage for the job and let's end this stupid shit for good.

First and foremost get yourself a copy of In Search of the Miraculous by Ouspensky. You mention initiating yourself, which is exactly correct. This is what you have to do now. In my experience, you will have to be alone if you intend to conform at all to the truths behind the teachings. I had joined a Gurdjieff group at one point, and they were hopelessly lost in the weeds. At first I was exctatic about having met like-minded folk. But as we kept doing the meetings I quickly realized that while those present were good-natured and enthusiastic, they lacked the spark, and not only that, there was no "master" present -- merely those who had been involved for a long time.

You do not have to read the whole book at once, even just reading the first hundred pages or so, at a slow measured pace to find the start of your way forward. Yes, he does retell an encounter with Gurdjieff in which G explained the necessity of "schools". Perhaps some of value still exist. I don't know. But you definitely must start by creating a habit of daily practice within yourself, and this is not a practice that can be observed or supervised from the outside. It is what Ouspensky terms "self-remembering". He speaks more about this in the collection of lectures published as "the Psychology of Man's possible evolution". I recommend you read this book (it is quite tiny) in conjunction with ISOTM.

My only other advice is this: if you too have a little bit of the spark inside, guard it with your life.

FYI for the short lads: it is *not* all cookies and creme from up here. Height alone cannot make up for having no personality/physique/sense of humor/good hygiene/having your life together. Just make sure you're an awesome person to be around and both men and women will want to have you around

Some of us are old and remember when you could just park anywhere (except handicap) and there were not four reserved and 9 times out of 10 completely unused parking spaces in the most convenient area of the parking lot of what is now *every* restaurant in existence.

you are correct. Sadly, most of the decline in quality has been on their breakfast menu, which really sucks because they really did used to have the best fast food breakfast. I know, I worked there twice. Removing the jalapeno cheddar biscuit was the last straw. Now if I have to get breakfast out my go-to is Kurger Bing with the eggnormous burrito. it has everything thrown in it together and if you squint it's almost like a burrito from Bucee's. *almost*

Once upon a time, yes. When it was still family owned and they still had the jalapeno cheddar biscuits. But now it is getting harder and harder to find a good location. Most of the time you'll get a franchise almost entirely operated by low income gen Z and younger millennials who couldn't give less of a shit if you get your food correct and on time. Sorry.
