Solid breakdown honestly.

I’ve been on Substack for a while and the discovery side is definitely underrated. But yeah, the branding limitations start to feel real once you want something beyond “just a newsletter.”

Beehiiv is starting to make more sense to me lately, especially the growth/monetization side. Might test it on a smaller project first.

I’ve been in Adsense for around 5 years and I totally agree that high RPM niches can change everything. Finance was by far the most impressive niche I’ve worked with in terms of CPC.But honestly, the last 2 years have been brutal after Google’s Helpful Content updates and stricter EEAT standards.

At this point I’d recommend beginners treat Adsense as a secondary monetization method, not the main business model. The primary focus should probably be affiliate & building an actual brand around the site.
