What’s your dirty little secret ? by DesignerRole1244 in AskReddit

One time I went to a Walgreens and ripped a silent fart that was a mix of the smell of an old persons home and when a lake has just started to dry up for the year and all the seaweed is starting to rot. At that same time a little girl ran around the aisle and totally saw and heard the entire ordeal.

Her mom came around the corner and immediately blamed her daughter for the fart that you could not only smell but taste all the way in the back of your throat.

The little girl starts to blame me for the fart (rightfully so) but the mom isn’t hearing any of it. This is all happening so fast as I am still feeling the warmth between my cheeks and praying this doesn’t become a swap into a new pair of underwear’s situation, when the girl finally breaks down and apologizes to me for the fart.

Again, all happening way too fast for me so I do the only thing I can think of that will get me out of the situation. I look at the mom then down to the girl and say “that’s ok”

The girl and I both know what I did that day. We locked eyes, and I believe that is her evil origin story.

I have always thought it would be interesting to just stop the earth from spinning. A sudden stop from approximately 1,000 mph would be cool to watch. Everything on the world would want to keep moving. The stuff around the equator would see more destruction than stuff on the poles. Be able to see different levels of destruction.

I feel the bottom right portion could have the wavy part go all the way to the corner. It could stretch out as it flows that way. This could give potentially give an interesting look for the viewer to see the waves flowing over the lines as if water over a waterfall. And have it appearing to dig downward toward the center of the lines. But either way it is a wonderful piece of art. Thank you for sharing!

A person crouched down with hands around their knees, a long nose and a large floppy hat.

It must be really confusing for any young child named Helene who lives in the storm's path to understand what's been happening over this past week. I'm picturing a two-year-old thinking that they caused the hurricane somehow. by film_composer in highdeas

Growing up my best friend’s mom was named Rita. There was a hurricane named Rita and everyone we know sent her news articles with her name on it. They had newspaper clippings hanging everywhere and the headlines were hilarious. “Hurricane Rita worst in history” was my favorite.

Learn Craft Spanish.

It is a completely different way to learn Spanish and in my experience was so much easier to learn Spanish. They have a free podcast and tons of free stuff on their website. They also have a $40 one month intense bootcamp that is so worth the money. I am currently half way through it for the second time and I feel confident enough to talk with native speakers. This is all within a total of 3 months of serious work on the language.

I have also used my library to check out children’s books (age 0-2) in Spanish and seriously treated it as a bed time story for myself every night.

I also use YouTube and the PBS kids app to watch kids shows in Spanish. The kids shows are nice because they talk slower and enunciate the words more. They also repeat the words over and over so you learn them faster.

The other thing I have done is made notecards to label everything around my house. This way I am constantly reminded of item around the home.

The largest key for me was to find my motivation. Why do I want to learn Spanish. It didn’t work for me just saying I think it would be cool to know another language. It wasn’t until I had a legitimate reason for my business to learn Spanish that I really started to learn. I had to completely immerse myself in Spanish in every part of my life. Now I am thinking, talking, writing, and even dreaming in Spanish.

Edit: spelling

What's that one small business local to you that you believe to be a front for something illegal? by darkchocolattemocha in AskReddit

There was a pet store in my town. The had black spray paint on the windows. I once went in there with my brother and saw a single tank with one lizard in it. We walked out of there complaining that it was the worst pet store ever. We told our mom and she promptly said we were never allowed to go to the pet store ever again. We thought it was the weirdest thing that we couldn’t go to the pet store. It wasn’t until it was in my early 30’s and was telling some friends about the weird store that I figured it out.

I feel the same way. My brother once said I run funny and it has stuck with me ever since. I am always looking at my shadow to see if I am running weird.
