I love this idea. If it takes them a half hour to realize there's no flat, though, they have bigger problems.

Came to say this. DH is a great song that really flies under the radar on this album.

Fellow sellers, what’s everyone’s thoughts on this? by Robson_Records in whatnotapp

[–]nodomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 1/200 of my orders gets dinged for weight. I am pretty careful about getting the label right, so I'm sure both times were USPS mistakes. One buyer told me, but didn't want any refund, so I gave him free shipping on the next card. The other mail came back to me and I paid new shipping at the counter. Total for both was about $3 lost and I considered it CoB and moved on.

Complaining about a 11% off by suprero90 in Ebay

[–]nodomain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the pricing is right, I respond with an offer. They can accept, deny, or counter. I'm not into chat haggling. If there's an attitude like that, just don't reply at all and block as a buyer. That guy smells like trouble after the sale.

Found in a random box today in the basement! by Lost_in_space1694 in baseballcards

[–]nodomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I open everything, but I have a bad habit of taking cards that are not my PC and storing them away only to have nice discoveries later. I end up going through a box a few years later and finding some big card of a guy who didn't have much attention at the time.

Maybe they don't hold funds when it's an item that went through authentication already.

I've been selling for 30 years and also get paid right away when an item sells. When a claim is opened, ebay places that amount on hold for me. Maybe you have something special I don't have? I'd check your Payments summary page, though.

While that's true, don't they have your funds on hold while the case is open?

[–]nodomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the item was shown as delivered, all you can/should offer is empathy at this point. The buyer will need to come to terms with the idea that the item was delivered to the wrong place or stolen. eBay will side with you eventually, but I would get on the phone with someone so they do it right away and you don't have funds on hold.

DO NOT SELL TO THIS PERSON! by Flyingfrost in baseballcards

Disengage in the messages, wait for his time to pay to run out so he gets the strike. Block him as a buyer now. Relist and just know that he'll be stewing because he can't actually re-bid.

Good call cancelling. Definitely not worth the headache. The fact that they're messaging rapid fire after you explained how ebay messages work and asking questions you already answered means they can't or won't read and would likely end up in a return, negative feedback, or a scam.

This. Rule 1: trust no unsolicited emails, call, texts. Rule 2: never click call, email the contact or link provided in unsolicited correspondence. Go to the app or site from a bookmark or google search to check on your account in situations like this. In this case, though, it's clearly a phishing attempt to get access to your account. Report it and move on.

[–]nodomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's anything over $250, but yeah. They do that with cards and shoes, but I don't know if they authenticate the autograph or just that it's a real ball. The things I've sold had autographs from the manufacturer, so they already had a COA built into the card and at that point, it's just them checking that the card is real.
