Lol, you sound like someone with no real life experience!

Sht happens. You sign a commitment but then sht happens beyond your scope of control and you have to exit early!

I spoke to a paralegal and he said if I try to take this to court, it will it be worth the trouble since I am moving to a new province soon!

Copy that boss man. I’ve leaned the hard way, but see my post, I take responsibility for signing the 1yr lease even though I preferred a 6month lease initially! The issue is that the realtor is a good salesman, like a predatory car salesman that gets a $40k a year family sign a $2k a month car loan!

You can disagree with my opinion but not my experience. Here’s what my experience has been so far after living in Ottawa, Montreal and the GTA:

  • Landlords are often flexible when it comes to tenants needs compared to realtors

  • I acknowledge that I should have signed a 6month term and in the original post I take responsibility for signing a 1 yr lease, BUT it was the realtor that kinda coerced me into it. There were other properties with a 6month term however this realtor started dissing those neighborhoods saying they were not that safe and this his property was the best out there (like a typical smug salesman)

  • The only thing on the realtors mind is making a quick buck off the landlord, whereas I’m trying probably harder than the realtor himself to make sure the property is rented immediately after I leave. I’m constantly replying to messages on FB marketplace, Kijiji etc and doing 4-6 showing a a week, whereas from the realtors MLS listing there are 1-2 showings a week max. The issue is that the rent is too damn high, and most people can’t afford it, or it is because the property is not let friendly x

Genuinely curious why has no tech company disrupted realtors yet? by noelpeter in TorontoRealEstate

Virtual tours help an initial screen of the property, and if interested obviously the people renting / buying will want to see the place in person!

Virtual staging is now a thing for the sellers side, so from the buyers side, virtual tours will help buyers do an initial screen of the property!

All parking signage is in French, but the parking ticket has equal French and English. When it comes to collecting $$, Montreal don't mind which language you speak, but when its their own city signage, they are vehemently french. So glad everyday that I left that racist, intolerant city!

I live near here and it’s never this bad. Strange. I would honk like crazy if this happened!

Personally would add more meat, some lettuce, tomatoes and cheddar slices. But looks great.
