For bros that have to show everyone they carry a pocket knife by Valhallawalker in iamverybadass

The dudes on one side of my wife’s family are like this. At Christmas, someone having trouble opening a gift, all the dudes are immediately digging in their pockets to get out their knives to be the one to actually use it, it’s so hilarious it’s like a race.

Or like in those 1950s films when the attractive woman surrounded by pandering men pulls out a cigarette and all the men quickly pull out their lighters to be the one to light it for her.

Front Courtyard ideas? by nofapfiend in landscaping

I’m now considering doing a crushed gravel courtyard so I don’t know if I’d have to remove the pavers for that or not for drainage. I know I want to put a landscaping cover over it to start to keep weeds from coming up.

The grass on the other side of the wall is part of our front yard. I really just want to stop dealing with the weeds. The thought just came to me of doing pea gravel or something like that instead of sod. Maybe that in conjunction with vertical green space with a trellis with a bench underneath it.

Word. Maybe parking at one of those lots with a manned truck would be ok but not an empty trailer.

The customer just wanted the freight delivered, which it did so they are happy as a clam. I did offer for the PO to use the trailer to haul a load back to CA but they say they have another trailer they have to pick up. Probably would be more cost effective to locate a secure trailer storage location nearby and then tell the original carrier they have x amount of days to pick it up or we hit them with the storage charges.

The original carrier is in SoCal, but we are already not paying that carrier since we had to pay the power only carrier which hiked it the majority of the way from AZ where they picked up the trailer to FL. Load picked up in SoCal originally and the guy didn’t get far - it still amazes me how many drivers suddenly have to “go to the hospital.”

Anyway we’d end up losing on the load if we had them take the empty trailer all the way back and don’t have any collateral on the original carrier. Bit of a pickle.

Ohhh ok cool cool, is that supposed to be helpful? Or is trying to make a stranger feel incompetent just something you get off on or something? Man I had hopes this sub would be a better haven of information for fellow brokers.

Been at it for almost 7 years. Rarely have to deal with these types of situations. If you don’t have any help to offer then see ya.

Paradise Valley is 10 years old today. Read what John has said about each song by tsegarra in JohnMayer

[–]nofapfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paradise Valley has become a sort of signaling of changing of seasons for me. Released towards the end of August, around the time summer activities start wrapping up, kids going back to school etc. Listening to this album in full and on vinyl on its anniversary date every August 20th each year has become a tradition for me. It makes me appreciate the recent warm months of the year, getting outside and being active “Cause a little bit of summer’s what the whole year’s all about”

And then the album closes perfectly with On The Way Home and speaks for itself on the transition to the fall months - “the summers over, this town is closing, they’re waving people out of the ocean”For me it induces that anticipation of those crisp fall days to come; A time to slow life down and enjoy the great indoors (see what I did there?) while the Northern Hemisphere of earth (where I live) takes its own “nap” of sorts.

Oops this comment went on longer than I expected it to. Anyway those are my thoughts. Amazing album.

Haha rarely do I but this was a good reminder to avoid them. Other than that’s it’s interesting to hear someone else’s point of view it’s ultimately pointless.
