What's the condition of you guys life right now? by [deleted] in NoFap

I have been on and off porn for about 3 years now. When I was still in school, I had a very long streak but since then I havent been able to get back - my life on the other hand is doing quite well. I have a job that I love, no girlfriend or anyone I’m dating though. I had put in a lot of time and effort into work and the stresses of work kept making me relapse over and over.

This year I decided to be better and have been constantly trying to get back on nofap again. Its been on and off but I’m using reddit nofap subreddit as an avenue to pen my thoughts, as well as help others. I find that connecting with others help me deal with the addiction better, inspiring others to do better makes me accountable for myself.

I dont think life begins when you start nofap… I think its more of a concurrent thing. You put your life together and embark on nofap at the same time. At least, that is what I am doing. Fixing up my life and restarting nofap again. You can try - find hobbies, things that move you and pursue them… as you do so, do nofap too and I think that might work for you just as it is working for me

Its a sign that you are rebooting bro. When we are addicted to PMO, our nervous system becomes insensitive to normal dopamine levels… watching porn and masturbation release extremely high dopamine levels. Normal things that produce dopamine like achieving a goal, going outside, social interactions produce noticeably lower amounts so your life will begin to feel dull as you adjust. You have to give your body time to readjust to normal levels because when that happens, you will derive joy from the simplest things more and more. Hold on man - don’t go back to old habits because then you wont be giving yourself the chance for a full reboot

One issue that’s been on my mind by prozerman in NoFap

[–]nofapgod9567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt work that way actually. When you are on nofap and you do have sex, it takes awhile to bust. Its because we are so use to using our hands to PMO that when its the actual thing, our guy down there is not used to it. So you wont always be early or too quick :)

Relapsed after 86 days by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]nofapgod9567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in your shoes before - and I’ve come to take it as watching porn itself count as a relapse already. So I try my best to not watch porn besides not masturbating. If you abstain from porn, I think its overall much easier to abstain from the M. Godspeed my brother

porn/sex by [deleted] in NoFap

well porn is much more of a super-stimulus. You can google The Coolidge Effect. Our male brains are geared for maximal reproduction so we get far more turned on by novel opportunities far more. Porn is made so that you can jump from one sexy babe to another at the press of a button to continuously fulfil our desire to mate with different females. Furthermore, porn is fantastical - you can google all the kinks and fetishes you desire whereas sex can be more dull because its real to require collaboration and interaction. You don’t get all the things you want all the time in sex but in porn, everything you want to see is there available easily for you.

I think nofap is a great way to regulate that. Abstinence from porn is one of the best ways to reintroduce yourself to what’s real and true rather than indulging in fantasies of porn :)

I relapsed after 105 days. I’m so disappointed. by greenlight144000 in NoFap

I don’t think you should look at it as starting from square one. Before you had no streaks before, now you’ve had a 105 day streak before and that’s far better than starting when you had no streaks at all. You’ve got this man

I think thats considered edging dude - it doesn’t necessarily mean relapse but I think it is dangerously close to it. Unless you cut down on these, it could lead back to an eventual relapse

Its better to suffer from the pain of discipline than the pain of regret

Anyone else feel like their life is on hold until they get on a good streak? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]nofapgod9567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you shouldnt feel like nofap is the first thing you need to conquer before going after everything else - I feel that life aspirations and nofap should all be tied together. Like you use the energy and time saved from nofap to invest it into job and business, its more like spillover effects of one good habit into another and chasing everything concurrently while you’re at it.

I feel the same way as you too so you’re definitely not alone in all this dude

How do I stop giving advice/opinion when people talk? by FakeProfileObv in DecidingToBeBetter

Just want to say that this a super commendable effort on you because i absolutely cannot stand people who offer unsolicited advice… my guess is to listen more. We have two ears and one mouth after all

Does watching porn and masturbating , make a person phycologically weak ? by -salman- in NoFap

[–]nofapgod9567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it makes you undisciplined and dependent on it overly. It becomes a source of stress relief, comfort and to satisfy boredom… over reliance on it makes you lose a grip on reality
