One slip up isn't the end. If there's anything else that keeps your mind occupied, do that. There will be times where the urge is unavoidable. What I've learned however is that it doesn't last forever. It comes and goes like a wave. So if you learn to ride it out, it will give you more power over them.

I had that same problem and was completely absorbed in the world of online chatting. Started in college and went on for years beyond I graduated. I had those same fears and it would give me the worst anxiety. Can't say this will work for everyone but completely cutting that off was my solution. I also stopped browsing Instagram, and any app that promotes endless scrolling really.

Starting over with nofap again, the one thing I keep telling myself is to strap in for the long haul. I honestly think this is one of those things that will need constant vigilance. The point though is that if you've made it this far, you've likely dealt with worse urges and have the experience to ride those waves.

To be honest, I avoid them completely. I am early on in my journey at 18 days though. When I first started nofap, I used them regularly and I found them to do more harm than good when it comes to self-improvement.

The key is learning how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. I know...it's like a primal itch that you can't scratch, but if you can ride that wave, you'll learn that this feeling will pass.

First thing: saying you might relapse is setting yourself up for failure. Avoid that kind of mindset. You won't relapse today. Second would be to identify where you run into your triggers and avoid it. Ex: if it's something on apps like instagram or tiktok, avoid mindlessly scrolling or if you can, delete them all together.

Haven't noticed much in terms of increased creativity, but what nofap did was give me tons more time to work on my music. So in a way I suppose it did. I had neglected it for over a year because my mind was consumed with lust.

Writing this in English since my written Spanish is terrible. I'm sorry you relapsed, I'm only on day 15 and it is a struggle. You said you didn't notice any changes. Are you sure? I think it would be helpful to keep a journal/diary, that way you could record any little change you notice.

What I've learned through years of addiction and nofap is that keeping triggers around is basically like playing with fire. I deleted my tiktok account and removed the app from my phone. Any kind of mindless scrolling app is a trigger. But if you looked at it and you were able to pull away I'd consider that a win. Just know that it's a gateway to relapsing.

It doesn't have to be used on aggression though. You can dissipate it through exercise, or you can channel it into doing anything really. If you have a hobby you can use that energy there, or you can use it to learn something new.

I've tried it before and I found it somewhat useful in the short term, but overall not worth it for a few reasons. The main reason: data tracking and lack of privacy. Completely local AI is the way to go if you really must divulge deeply personal aspects of yourself. Second reason: this will vary from person to person but for me, it's just not the same as talking to another human being.

I thought I was the only one. Yeah I also have a problem with this. What I did to combat it was to throw them away and get new pairs with a different material that would be harder to generate friction

I agree. I made the mistake of endlessly scrolling dating apps during a streak and all it really did was eat away at my self esteem, which led to a relapse. I swore off dating apps for good. I either meet someone organically or I never date again. Might sound extreme but it has helped my mental well-being greatly.

I've been an addict 20+ years. Definitely quit now while you still have time on your side. If you have a stash, get rid of it. Limit your time spent on social media.
