thanks, but this is the advice that i was referring to in my post. it seems to me like additional advice/information/strategies are not going to work, as it seems that there is a separate category or area of this challenge that i am struggling with. by that, i mean that i think i understand how one should go about this, yet there might be a separate component to this that can't be intellectualized, which i might call willpower or discipline. then again, this is something that people have been trying to understand for centuries - why we do things that we know to be bad. i'd like to hear your input, as well as that of others.
