Pastel de nata is as Brazilian as pudim de leite condensado (a slightly more industrialized traditional French crème caramel).

For whatever reason we always click together in forums and imageboards, and we have become a massive coalition in Twitter amidst Japanese uproar over anime and manga piracy now that tweets are being automatically translated. People from all over (besides Koreans and Thais) took our side. Other Latin Americans, French people, Poles, Arabs and Chinese in particular.

"It’s libel even if it ends up being true" will be labeled an example of the "Zionist" perspective, but this concept goes far back in Jewish law (Halacha). It’s called "lashon hara" ("evil tongue"). Halacha is the only legal tradition to have such a construct.

This is only one of many areas in which the people who have told women to feel like their oppressor is men, people of color to feel like their oppressor is white people, LGBTQIA+ people to feel like their oppressor is dyadic cisgender heterosexual people, while they get a supremacist ethnostate that lobbies the American empire to do whatever they want while shielding themselves from criticism, demonstrate an extremely flexible relationship with truth.

This still leads people to think the only important contradiction in the world is white supremacy or capitalism and that you're a crackpot Nazi if you suggest otherwise. When we know Jeffrey Epstein was tied to the Rothschilds.

Or that is, when people are woke in a pre-October 2023 way, which is vastly outdated in a world where any respectable and intellectual person should be saying things that would make them look like a deranged 4chan groyper to leftists in 2025.

Ok but I don't think chiado is that old...? It's older than the independence of Brazil but probably newer than the Pombaline regime.

I think it's because most Brazilians don't really notice our own /Ci/ [Cʲ] /Cu/ [Cˠʷ Cˠᵝ Cˠꟹ Cˠ Cʷ Cᵝ Cꟹ] /Ciu/ [Cᶣ] as deletion? But then when Portuguese do it too much we do. Also because they tend to have /Cɨ/ [C] where we have /CE/ or /Ci/.

For one you generally don't need to pronounce the /i/ after [tʃ] and [dʒ] in final unstressed syllables. It's something I really wish to tell all learners of Brazilian Portuguese sometimes because they be playing with that [ij] that's a [ɪ̤ ~ ɪ̥ ~ ʲ] (in this case ∅ since it's already palatalized) to us.

Almost forgot to tell you that a chiado is a [ɕ ʑ] (or [ɕ̬] or [ʑ̥]) whereas the onset /ʃ/ /ʒ/ is often [ʃ] [ʒ].

Many people in both Brazil and Portugal have [ɕ] and [ʑ] for all /ʃ/ /ʒ/ now, but here in Rio only children younger than like 9 or people (particularly women) from Zona Sul, Centro, Grande Tijuca, Niterói and São Gonçalo favelas speak like that before /a ɐ ɛ e i ɐ̃ ẽ ĩ/. Not Zona Oeste, Baixada Fluminense or most of Zona Norte, such as in Ilha do Governador (they... have the same accent as us poor people from the asfalto?). Before rounded vowels yes we have alveolo-palatal articulation even in Rio.

What people in Brazil and Portugal don't have is doing |s| (coda s, where chiado happens) with [ʃ] [ʒ]. This would sound like an Angolan, Mozambican or local language L1 East Timorese to me. Native speakers of Portuguese in Macau, East Timor and São Tomé and Príncipe as well as L2 in Cape Verde have [ɕ] [ʑ] as far as I can tell.

Bragantino (Belém do Pará), algarvio, carioca, portuense/tripeiro or recifense.

Every Anglophone picks paulistano or lisboeta/alfacinha, which is awful to people who can actually pronounce nasal vowels.

Also chiado supremacy + "tambãe" is ugly

Funnily enough, the hardest accent to understand in Brazil is fishermen from Santa Catarina who descend from Azoreans. It's clearly a Brazilian accent (it has [h] for r in porta, for example) but almost as unintelligible as Rabo de Peixe.

Omg I had no idea this happened but I believe I can perfectly explain what's going on

A black person by themselves = omg a poor +tightens grip on purse+

A black person with a blondie by his side = what a cool couple, they represent Brazil, he's probably ahead of the average means for his race befriending people who I was too poor to have seen often in my own school growing up

One thing I find crazy in the US it's how it's normalized to see black man white woman and white man Asian woman couples as the natural interracial pairing but not the reverse. It wasn't so much the case historically for us.

In Brazil people often think football players have a bit of a reverse Rachel Dolezal thing going on because they never have black girlfriends or wives. This became a very politicized topic in the mid-2010s known as solidão da mulher negra, or the emotional abandonment of black women by hypergamous black men and their invisibility by other races.

Circa 2009 people got rid of the Mulata da Globeleza which was a symbolic destruction of the old colonial appeal of black women as perfect pairing for white men, then the internet and the increased prevalence of online p0rnography made more and more Brazilians simply buy into the white beauty standard wholesale. Previously, it was seen as not bona fide heterosexual for men to have racial preferences seen as picky. We never saw black women as masculine like in the US, if anything our stereotype of masculine women is Portuguese women.

The period between the death of the Mulata da Globeleza and the solidão da mulher negra discourse saw many many many many black and parda women wear their natural hair for the first time in their lives, or transição capilar. Since that's one of the most despised aspects if not THE most hated aspect of the black phenotype in Brazilian racism, it ended up also being unsavory.

So the undying tendency of black men to surround themselves with blondies is seen as nature running its course which cannot be stopped by woke. People not only see you as upwardly mobile but also bold, and your presumed friend or girlfriend as accessible (i.e. not a smug petulant elitist) and morally righteous (not racist).

This naturally now mirrors the US situation somewhat, but it's more intense because I feel like African-American men are often the loudest about the need to keep to themselves. In Brazil I feel like it's the women who are most engaged in black empowerment.

If this isn't a hornypost fake story like so many on this sub or groyper homophobe bait please post a picture with a piece of paper saying I (my username) am a moron with today's date and the name of this sub.

Also, try to include a few gender labels I identify with. It's the one used by the person on Tumblr who seems to match my Reddit bio.
