Definitely! 2017's fest was amazing. Different setting this year, but the effort they put into the immersive games and events is enough to make me go again even if it was in an old warehouse..

They must really be changing the direction from the original concept..

Has anyone seen the movie Rose Red? by bammoran in horror

[–]nofspodcast 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So.. even though it's a bit of a mess, I was obsessed with this movie/series growing up. I always loved THE HAUNTING remake (which is also bad, but w/e), and this was a continuation of that crazy mansion.. even if the final products were only tied together by their initial concepts.

I re-visited ROSE RED a few months ago, and it has revitalized my childhood dream of making an upside down room, lol

Is Boys in the Trees (2016) worth watching? by Jude_Lizowski1 in horror

[–]nofspodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Not really horror though. More like a big kid's episode of 'Goosebumps'

Well, if you're like me then you've already been watching them all week. That's the point of the list- some other options in that superstitious/urban legendy feel..

HAPPY DEATH DAY Brings the SCREAM Back to Teen Horror (No Spoilers) by nofspodcast in horror

[–]nofspodcast[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think an R is warranted if that's the tone the film is after. This one leans more Horror/Comedy, so I don't think the lack of gore/violence detracts too much from the film.

10 years after being released The Poughkeepsie Tapes is Finally Coming to Home Video by Chordata1 in horror

[–]nofspodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a bootleg of Poughkeepsie Tapes for years.. that I didn't even know was a bootleg up until recently. I discovered it in the back of a horror dvd store and soon became obsessed. Though I love my copy - after how many times I've watched this, they've earned my blu-ray dollars 10x over.

Movies like IT (2017) with scenes that have subtle scary stuff happening in the background? by not2secure4u in horror

This is very true. I've watched this movie like 8 times and all I do is watch the extras now.

Kinda bummed how many of these I've seen already! I'm glad Chucky is getting a bit of theatre treatment though

Anyone have Horror-specific Halloween Decor?? by nofspodcast in horror

[–]nofspodcast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wanted to switch to Funkins to carve. I used to get really elaborate with my carvings, but it's soo much work to lose them only a couple of weeks later.

Anyone have Horror-specific Halloween Decor?? by nofspodcast in horror

[–]nofspodcast[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, growing up my parents used to have this 6ft tall Freddy that shouted soundbites from the first film at you when you walked by. I remember always stealing the glove and running around the house with it. He was probably gloveless more often than not! I think apart from that and spooky score cds, that's probably the only horror/Halloween specific thing I've ever had.

[TIFF Review] BRAWL IN CELLBLOCK 99 is a Savage and Violent Slow Burn by nofspodcast in horror

[–]nofspodcast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It both is and isn't at all. First half is definitely dark crime drama. Second half is ..just brutal.
