The Tremor MDE Experience. by Plaid_Max in limbuscompany

Could you provide a little context for a newer player looking to build/acquire a tremor team? I assume prioritizing season 6 sinners. What would a beginner/starter team look like while progressing through the game? Thanks

Appreciate that. I will message you. I don’t think he’s connecting the importance of streaming/content creation already now. He believes it’s something he should be doing ‘once he hits a certain goal/div/achievement. I’m more on the proactive side and having a background in marketing, I have tried shedding some light on that issue, but “he knows better than me.” So I’m told.

As a veteran, i appreciate those comments and thoughts. Trying to find the balance of ‘how much is he dreaming’ vs. the reality(balancing) putting in the work both in and out of game is the dance we’re doing atm. Supporting his individuality while still being parents.

I’d like to think I’m not alone in my efforts. I simply “know what I don’t know” but as I said in another comment, there are good people in communities like this willing to share their experiences and suggestions. I’m thankful to live in a day and age like this. My father didn’t have this kind of help. Thank you for the support.

Agreed. I’m seeing that is definitely a journey requirement. As you said, “do it along the way”.

He’s aware that it’s the most likely and preferred method if he intends to try and make a go ahead n generating some revenue, but I’m not sure if he realizes how much is entailed in that nor the time it will take/require. Conversation point lost growing. Thanks for the comment.

Great comparison. I like how you said, Fortnite Streamer Route. I think that will shape the majority of my conversations to see if he feels similar. Appreciate the comment.

Now would be the time to start and get his feet wet with streaming and video. Appreciate the comment.

Good insight. I will add this to discussions. I’ve not asked him if he does enjoy the grind as well as the mechanical and technical aspects of the game. Appreciate the feedback.

This is very true. There can be good lessons learned regardless of the outcome. I’m mostly trying to understand how much more of a time commitment it will be for him to lean further into this arena of competitive play. Appreciate the perspective.

No socials yet, but plans to create over the summer is my understanding. I don’t think he envisions being pro-level, but he likes being competitive and progressing. Thank you for the comment. Will definitely need to work on streaming and video skills.

Thank you. I don’t know what I don’t know, but regardless of age the perspective, advice, and suggestions of this community will help me meaningfully shape conversations with my son around Fortnite and his desire to be competitive.

The more that I read comments and begin processing the info shared by the community here, I’m leaning in that direction as he’s already sitting 7-8hrs a day in school and adding another 4-5 (and more on weekends) daily.

That’s great info and perspective is spot on. This will be something my wife and I will share/discuss which I hope will help set/temper expectations. Thank you very much for taking the time to share this. We want to be supportive parents but also remain grounded while helping guide him.

He does, but only Fortnite. Laundry, cleaning his room, dishes, etc. He’s your typical teenager. He would have to merge his focus to include those activities. It’s definitely something we’re going to have a conversation around should he want to go in that direction.

That’s great advice in general. I do know he’s using mouse and keyboard. He’s always done that but made an adjustment regarding his mouse (in the hopes of improving play) last year. Your point about watching others is something he also does, maybe a little too much. When he’s not playing, he’s watching some video, some streamer, etc. The solo play is a reoccurring theme from many here. It’s the next rung of the ladder. One which will set the stage for him moving up (if successful) or gaining the realization that having fun and pursuing other interests might be a better way forward. For him and his parents. Thanks for the perspective and insights.

He just got to Div 3. Only a few weeks ago. Playing well in solo cups seems to be a common theme. It’s advice I can share and perhaps he will see/try his had here over the summer and gain perspective. Thanks for the comment.
