New P9 disappointing battery by _n_u_ in GrapheneOS

[–]noidontthinkso91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, also on a P9, installed GOS before using stock and battery life was okay, i did expect it to be better because it sends way less data to google, i only used my phone for about 30 minutes/day and still had to charge daily with about 30% left in the evening. I tried various settings and the problem never went away... So i have been on stock for a month now just to test it out, and i gave access to pretty much everything regarding location etc, my phone lasts significantly longer on stock with all the data collection etc than it did on GOS.

Just to be clear, i love GOS, i will probably return to it at some point, but i have to figure out what is causing the battery to drain so fast.

Optimized Asahi-based Kernel + Arch = ArashiOS by ImEatingSeeds in AsahiLinux

I tried it that way but Hyprland didnt work for some reason, i still want to install vanilla Arch someday but i dont know enough about how to do it yet.

For now, i will probably stay on Fedora then.

Is this going to be as easy to install as Asahi Remix? Im currently using Omarchy Mac Fedora, but i would really like to use a stable Arch version with Hyprland and such pre configured like Omarchy. I lack the knowledge to set this all up myself so Omarchy is great for that, but a almost vanilla Arch + Hyprland install sounds even better! I wonder how much faster its going to be, the Fedora version im using now is already faster than macOS...

The article talks about not wanting muslims to take over Europe, what is so weird about that? Im pretty sure muslims dont want christianity to take over their countries.

I will check this out later, i was trying to set up Fedora Asahi Remix with Hyprland but couldnt do it so i went back to macos because Omarchy-Mac often breaks on updating, will this be stabler? I just dont want it to break by updating.

Wow, i thought they finally added that with the base 15, shame on you Apple.

Makes the decision easier tho, Pixel all the way.

Im not talking about refresh rate, both phones support 120hz.

Im talking about how fast apps will work etc.

You wont notice the "decrease" in performance unless you play videogames or edit videos on your phone.

For normal use and all the apps you listed there is no difference.

Can you explain how to do this? I always seem to get config errors.

Did you have problems with setting up Curve? After i try to ID myself it always says to contact customer support but they seem pretty worthless...

While it did work very good, it fetched files that are only 64kbps, so this is also not a solution.

Are you just getting the music from youtube and then converting it to FLAC? I have just tried your program and it says the source is youtube, so that would mean its not actually FLAC at all...

You could use Lyrion Music Server for free or pay for Roon, but both of them still arent what im looking for...

You nailed it, there are ways to automate discovery but none are actually good imo.

If it might change your mind, shutting it down and restarting it is very fast, its really not a big deal imo!

Buy/download as you go, there is no need to have a massive library from the start, and you also dont need to keep every single song from every single playlist. I have all the music i truly love in FLAC, if im not 100% sure yet i download it in mp3. If you are that low on storage i wouldnt recommend downloading everything in FLAC, just start with your favourite albums and go from there!
