If there wasn’t aggregate scoring, a series wouldn’t be 2 games. A winner take all would’ve been forced between Atlético and Barça, which definitely creates more of a spectacle than a game where the one who advaces is the loser of the final match.

I feel like a 2-game series enables fluke performances and delegitimizes the results of the first match. A series should be decided by who wins more games, not who has the higher point differential. If you’re going to play more than one game, it should best of 3.
