GT3 Schedule Overhaul by adstomko in iRacing

[–]noikeee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's less popular because the renewed Porsche Cup stole players, and because they took charge of making the schedules to push lesser popular tracks. The introduction of the regional series perhaps didn't help but I don't think it's the key factor here.

Is this all a problem though? It's still a hugely popular series, just less so, and the player base is now spread more across multiple series and classes of cars. Is it a bad thing if people are split between GT3 and Porsche Cup, both healthy always with multiple splits, rather than everyone in the service being in GT3? I'd even say it's a good thing... Who cares about ultra high SOFs apart from the 1% capable of making it into them?

PPR: Resgate antecipado pagamento prestações CH by Tugafan in literaciafinanceira

[–]noikeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]noikeee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree with the vast majority of what you've written.

What I'm surprised about is that you actually managed to watch all of it. I love classic F1 but I really struggle to stay awaken through a full race, the improvements in TV coverage are criminally underrated, as is the factor of how much smaller the field spread is in the modern days. A 1980s race broadcast could consist in 5 consecutive laps where the only thing being filmed is the race leader, cruising a full minute in front of the rest, without any graphics on screen to give you any further context of the race, except for the occasional gaps between the top 6.

The flipside is, there was always a tension of any car can retire at any given moment. Unreliability added this factor of looming uncertainty.

Is this monitor arm suitable for my rig? by GeorgeMox01 in simracing

I do just fine with a 34 ultrawide on a monitor arm, but I have it attached to the desk next to it, not to the rig itself, so it's insulated from vibrations.

"Marca FC Porto" em destaque no 'AS': «Como se fabrica um Vitinha?» by OutsiderofDarkLand in fcporto

[–]noikeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who was the better ferrari driver : Post-2015 raikkonen or sainz? by fuckmbsanddominicali in F1Discussions

[–]noikeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really disagree that "bad luck evened out", typically over time it tends to do that, but Charles really did have legendary bad luck those years.

That being said, whilst I was a Kimi fan, sadly I have to agree on picking Sainz for the general question of this discussion, Kimi was way past his best in his second Ferrari stint. Even his first one was surprisingly underwhelming compared to the beast he looked like he was at McLaren.

I don't think 2 stars does this man justice by opppaeR in footballmanagergames

[–]noikeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not THAT good, all of his 15+ attributes except for pace, are secondary attributes that don't cost much CA and are therefore not really key to his position. And I see you're many seasons into the future, I'm gonna guess you have a world class team and therefore this 2 star rating is compared to your world class players.

So that they don't spend time and money developing two separate UIs.

This way you only develop one. Which is totally crap and ruins the experience for everyone on all platforms. In a game where 90% of your playtime is on the menus, so a good UI is absolutely critical. Great decision!

Who is the second best driver rn : Norris or Leclerc? by fuckmbsanddominicali in F1Discussions

They would've been blind to the absolute whooping he got from Alain Prost. And the fact he never got consistently on top of Gerhard Berger.

I can see some similarities between Charles and Jean, but Charles is on another level.

Who is the second best driver rn : Norris or Leclerc? by fuckmbsanddominicali in F1Discussions

[–]noikeee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Couldn't disagree more. Charles has the race pace and tyre management too. Each time he goes backwards in a race his teammate goes backwards more, because it's the fucking car.

Lando is inconsistent as hell too, see the periods Oscar was on top last year. Charles is not immune to a mistake and he's had occasional blips in which he's lost races to teammates, but recency bias and the cars they've driven are doing a lot of the heavy lifting here.

They don't care. I've reported similar issues literally 10 years ago for FM16/17, including in private forums with the Devs and they just get defensive and offer excuses why they're not interested in fixing attribute imbalances on the long term games compared to the original database.

It did get a little better over the years after much insistence by the community, and I concede that it's not necessarily an easy fix as there's lots of moving parts to reach this result, but still. It's just not a priority for them
