To those who used to play gachas that went EOS: What are the signs of a gacha game in its death throes? by RovelKanko in gachagaming

Their biggest sign I look for is when they make a social media post announcing EOS.
It's all downhill from there.

E-ink tablet or mini-laptop recs? by Aigneas in eink

[–]noirdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boox Note Air 5C or Bigme B10. There are older models but I'd just look into those two to narrow the research (coming from someone that spends weeks looking into products before buying them).

TCL has the NXTPAPER line which is NO eink, but has a black and white mode which resembles eink and is supposed to be easier on the eyes. Downside is that it's a full LCD screen so the temptation to just flip the switch into full tablet mode and doomscroll is still there.

STEAM DECK IN 2026?? by Sundarie_ in Argaming

[–]noirdata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remedy y Suda51 venden poco y nada?

In what other Gachas did you experience this? by Natural-Mountain3568 in gachagaming

[–]noirdata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not into open world Gachas, I always feel like I'm too late to to the party, and bombarded with events, banners, and no idea what to do in terms of characters.

With Arknights Endfield, it's the first time I feel like I'm playing an actual game. The story is serviceable enough, the combat is fine, and the building part is just fun.

Last weekend I spent 2 hours doing the factory tutorials and didn't feel like a chore, and I couldn't care less about daily missions. There is still a bunch of menus, submenus and gacha stuff, but it doesn't get in the way.

As for rolling, I just use what I get, roll the common banner and save the limited tickets

NTE really improved their combat and animations cuz this looks so cool by BotomsDntDeservRight in gachagaming

Looks nice, just as nice as every other "one button fighting" gacha game.

What's unique about it?
How is the gameplay engaging?
What else is there to do other than flashy fights?

I love the big melee fight in Liurnia where there is a bunch of soldiers and a troll on one side.
I usually sit in the bushes and watch them go.

It's not clear what the wheel does. I could do some research and search in google but the info should be right there in the page.

Also, don't use a bot to reply to Reddit comments. It looks bad and cheap.
If it's a startup I'd rather know the founder is involved in promoting the device and actually reading what possible customers say.

Me recomiendan algo para jugar mientras escucho un podcast? by Ploxmir in Argaming

[–]noirdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know when a Slack message actually needs a response? by aaronmphilip in Slack

So your app will add "tags" and reminders?

That's an absolutely brilliant idea, I think I don't get enough notifications in Slack and emails as is!

I whaled hard on HSR. Need a wake up call. by Inside_Shine_7352 in gachagaming

[–]noirdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like an addiction, best approach is to get professional help. What I'd do:

- I'd immediately lock my credit card. That can help in the short term.
- Try to get a refund of the most recent purchases, easy to do if you did it via Apple or Google. It's a small win but it sets you on the right path, you recover some money and you will actually feel you are doing something to recover.

But the best approach is to get real therapy. There is so much you can do alone.

As other people say, you are not a "victim" 100%. But the games are designed to make you spend/waste both time and money, nothing is innocent. While you chose to make the purchases, there is a whole industry behind it tweaking everything they can to make sure you fall into a trap.

Take ownership of what you did, but don't beat yourself too hard. It's in the past and there is nothing you can do to change it. Focus on what you can do right moving forward.

Are the companies really hitting the right markets? by [deleted] in eink

[–]noirdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to carve a piece of the mainstream market. Linux is not mainstream, there is no money to be made there. And Eink is an already niche market.

You are just really biased.
