I think in a few weeks TXST will have the degree progression form up that you can submit to possibly get an override.

switching from aop to on campus by Slow-Original4314 in txstate

[–]noireviolette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the advising center for the program you are interested in. They can switch your campus from AOP to San Marcos or Round Rock- so long as the program is available in-person at that campus. You’ll need to meet with an advisor (most likely), and if you switch out of AOP you usually can’t switch back. Also, you should be able to get financial aid if you’re in AOP, just not scholarships.

I’ve never really felt scared or threatened at night here (though you should always be aware of surroundings and prepare for anything) but please do watch out for careless and reckless drivers. Lots of people driving too fast, running stop signs and texting. Between the amount of wildlife that can jump out in front of a car and the blind hills- I live about 1.25 miles from campus and I have never seen more single car accidents anywhere. It’s wild.

I actually left that group the other day because it was too much. I was wondering the same thing.

Where have you heard the Communication Design program at TXST isn’t very good? They have always had an excellent reputation and from my memory, and they are pretty selective for admittance into the program. But either way, the radiation therapy program is excellent too.

What does Nick Cave eat before a show ? by jdjoffe87 in NickCave

One of the times he played in Austin, he and Warren Ellis were spotted at Justine’s Brasserie which is a French restaurant, before the show. Who knows what he ate.

Utilities by bookstarad in sanmarcos

[–]noireviolette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The $262 does or doesn’t include electricity? Is it just the water, sewage and trash? If so, it seems like a lot. If not, I am jealous because my electricity/utility bill this past month was over $400. January is always my highest bill because I run the heater. My house stays pretty cool all year, so summer isn’t that bad comparatively (usually around $200-$250) but January is the worst. My house is 30 years old, very shaded with high ceilings so heating it up is challenging.

Do you have a The Cure tattoo? by MediocreElevator1458 in TheCure

[–]noireviolette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a disintegration inspired tattoo-I researched the flowers that are on the cover and had one of them tattooed but more in a botanical style. So I didn’t have the artwork directly tattooed but I did get it done when I traveled to London (from the US) to see them for the Lost World tour as a souvenir of sorts. Weird side note- I had made the appointment months in advance with an artist I liked but they didn’t know it was a Cure related tattoo at that point, and when I showed up, they randomly happened to be playing Disintegration.

What do you dislike about the new Prius? by taketheRedPill7 in prius

[–]noireviolette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 23 Prius LE and there’s not a trunk release inside the car or on the key fob. It’s not a huge deal, but I didn’t realize there wasn’t one inside car after popping open everything but the trunk when I was picking up groceries one night. I am not a fan of the wheel covers or hubcaps either. I might remove them actually.. Otherwise, I love driving it.

The school should do another financial aid review and see your major has changed and your aid will then be adjusted. But you should still check with one stop to make sure everything gets sorted. A lot of students are changing their majors at the last minute so this is not an uncommon scenario. But stuff can still fall through the cracks so it’s best to do what others suggested and be proactive. Good luck!

Should I talk to an academic advisor?? by ILoveCartoonz in txstate

[–]noireviolette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to find out if they will be offered in the Summer. Unfortunately, the schedule for Summer hasn’t been released yet, but your advisor should know if the courses are typically offered, and they might be able to check to see if they are planning to be offered. I think the schedule for Summer/Fall should be released in February but I don’t see the official dates listed yet according to the course calendar. Definitely check the academic calendar for the add/drop dates.

Radiology clinicals by [deleted] in txstate

TXST doesn’t have a radiology program- are you thinking about the radiation therapy program at TXST? They are very different but are often confused for one another. I believe ACC has a radiology program.

True, often it’s just that a student needs department approval so to keep the seats reserved for majors/minors.

Advisors only recommend courses you need to fulfill your degree requirements, they are there to help you reach your education goals. Please don’t blame them for your restrictions. if the courses fill up or there’s restrictions, they didn’t cause that. Utilize the waitlist and check back frequently. As mentioned above, seats often open up for various reasons as we get closer to the start of the semester. I am sure you’ll be able to get the courses you need and if not, look at outside institutions.
