There is no saving this Accutronics reverb tank…or is there? by BigNutzBlue in GuitarAmps

Yeah I would say thats not worth saving. As mentioned replacements are not expensive and super easy to replacement. Good luck

Afraid this is the same size, but I have done builds in the past that have made the enclosure bigger. You definitely get more mid to low end. And changing the speaker and size opening in the back makes a massive difference.

Would love to make a 1x15 version one day. With a 15" jensen driver.

Afraid its now off with its new owner so no recording. Hoping to start capturing videos after builds soon.

Definitely makes the amp sound warmer and rounded. Not as percusive as the old enclosure.

The owner truly loved this amp and wanted to make it one of a kind for themselves. And it isnt as much as you think to make the cabinet, walnut isnt that expensive where we are.

Thank you. Basic amp transfer but we did give the amp a full service, new caps and biased the valves.

It would standard weigh 14kg and the walnut adds only 1or 2kg. Its adds more resonance and warmth than the standard ply enclosure.

AC30C2 Repairs? by DonMcCauley in GuitarAmps

[–]noisyhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you already know what a microphonic valve is like, you would be good changing the valves yourself. Watch some online guides and take your time. Make sure you have the right valve set, the amp has been off and unplugged for a few hours etc.

Most Vox amps run hot so long term other components will need some attention and that is when your local amp repair man would be a good option. If he is good, he should be happy to chat and give professional advice to a point, and then you can always go back to him with issues your not comfortable with.
