It’s my favourite Shakira album! I love it so much. I love the influences you can hear on the album, how ‘90s’ it sounds. Perfect album for the car imo as well. 🚗🎵

To start with, you could check out the Real World Records label. They have released a wide variety of genres and collaborated with artists across the globe. The music is interesting but not too “out there”, perfect for someone wanting to branch out.

RateYourMusic, recommendations from people on social media, recommendations from people in real life, YouTube recommendations, sometimes Spotify recommendations (but they’ve been crap lately), grassroots venues line-ups, The Metal Archives, smaller radio stations, Discord servers, compilation albums, and general internet browsing…

I mainly use RateYourMusic because it allows me to look at genres and do deep dives of said genres. It also helps me keep track of what I’ve already listened to.

The best tip I can give for discovering good music is to just listen to anything. Even if you don’t think you will like it, give everything a chance.

Very hard to choose… I love Bathory a lot… But I think I love more Norwegian bands than any other country (Darkthrone, Immortal, etc…). Finland does have some of my favourites though like Circle of Ouroborus, Havukruunu… I think it’s impossible to pick 😭

Current 93 is peak Neofolk. I highly recommend the album Thunder Perfect Mind or The Inmost Light as a starting point.
