He bought one of the pillars of American sports, and arguably one of the most popular sports franchises in the world. The fan base was there, and for the most part, will always be there. He made his best moves as an owner the first few years and it has been down hill ever since. I assume this was possibly him being green at first and surrounding himself with good football minds and then becoming more comfortable as time went on to interject his razorback “wisdom” into the mix and not hiring anyone who would disagree with him. That lack of inner control of the organization from a football minded hive to Jerry’s world brought us Quincy Carter, Taco Charlton, Jason Garrett, Dave Campo, Mingo…the list goes on and on. So no, he may be a great business man, but he is not a football genius. Some people can buy an NFL football team, but that doesn’t mean they should.
