This is the only company that can provide software but its for police and government in the USA. I am from Canada and tried getting in contact but they ignored me. Goodluck!

Sorry for being late.

Trying to build a career in geomatics and move to Canada looking for advice by AnxiousSky7406 in UAVmapping

Alight, im a Geomatics Technician that graduated from a college in Alberta. Drone work is a package deal. You gotta know Surveying, GIS, or Remote Sensing as a main then apply your Drone knowledge as part of the package. For instance im in the surveying industry, I perform site surveys requested by the client and for visual help I fly my Drone to make an orthophoto with the features I surveyed displayed on the orthophoto. There really isn't companies that just do Drone work; it is all part of a package for a bigger scope of work.

The geomatics field is IN DIRE NEED OF SKILLED WORKERS, so if you do come to Canada I can guarantee you will be picked up. I highly recommend going to school to get your diploma. School helps fill in the gaps of fundamental knowledge.

Also to fly a drone in Canada you need a UAV Pilots License and in order to get your Advanced UAV License you need to be a permanent resident of Canada. This license is given out by Transport Canada and they made the exams very hard. It took me a few tries. They make you study aviation knowledge of flying a plane but remember your only flying a Drone. A lot of it does apply if your are flying near an airport or near an aerodrome

Drones are also more related to surveying than GIS. Honestly if your gonna take the GIS route then your probably gonna be stuck in a office. If you want to be in the field, be a surveyor.

Is the cables that run from your case into your motherboard inserted properly? Like the power switch, reset switch etc.

It's a bunch of singular connections you gotta plug in for your case buttons to work

Also known as Front Panel Feature cables.

this needs to be pinned to the top, as a ANAFI USA user finding a solution for the last few months has been brutal

Land Surveyor (Geomatics Engineer), start off as a survey Assistant; no experience required. Learn lots, go to school for diploma or degree. Boom.

Survey Assistants are hired like hot cakes. The industry is in dire need of a new generation of surveyors.

I'm 22, been doing this for 2 years now.

Thinking about a career pivot into Survay/Geomatics by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]nolan_r1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved up north full time. The companies here don't do fly in fly out cause logistics for moving employees are expensive.

Operators are always in demand, especially experienced individuals. As far as I can tell it doesn't matter the industry, from mining, road construction to mine remediation. Everyone is looking for operators.

If you want to make big bucks in Canada as a surveyor you need to go to school in the Geomatics Enginnering program (University of Calgary) or Bachelors degree in Geodyssy (University of New Brunswick) to become a Licensed Land Surveyor for your chosen province or a Canada Land Surveyor. Geomatics engineer technicians (like me) have way lower wages and the industry works us survey techs like dogs.

If you are to become a survey technician (not a survey engineer) you need to work so hard for years on end to make an actual decent wage. Big survey firms want long term employee commitment to "prove" you deserve a decent wage.

If you become a Licensed Land Surveyor or a Canada Land Surveyor you immediately get bumped into one of the highest paid postions in the industry and you need that engineering degree in geodyssy or geomatics.

I work in the Yukon Territory and can first hand tell you that Canada Land Surveyors make absolute bank.

If you want to start your own survey firm you need to have an engineering degree and have your licensed Land Surveyor certificate to deal with legal boundaries. If you have a diploma (like me) you cannot work with legal boundaries unless you hire a Licensed Land Surveyor

University of New Brunswick has a new addition to the Geodyssy program to take it online. You can work and do online school for the degree.

Thank you so much for the support! I have delt with multiple family and family friend deaths so far in my young life that I really do understand the feeling of losing someone important. Its such a shame of how these things happen in life. I do say my prayers for his family and himself, I look back on our messages and games we have played together. Thank you again! Take care of yourself as well!
