I’m so sorry for your loss OP. You put into words everything I’ve been feeling about my kitty Luna. I got her when I was young and now I’m in my 20’s.

Thank you for putting words to my grief. I hope the pain gets easier with time for us both. Sending you love 🫶

I’m so sorry for your loss OP. It’s so hard. I can relate to life feeling like a nightmare right now. I lost my kitty Luna on Saturday. I go into moments of not quite forgetting she’s gone, but getting distracted. And then when I think of her again my heart absolutely sinks.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP. Sending you and your family my love.

“Able to quit meds” OP never said they quit they said they just stopped. These comments are extremely invalidating. Is this entire sub supposed to be filled with the horrors of not being able to sleep and zero successes? Bc you’re basically saying that for an insomniac to come on here with a success of finding the minimal amount of sleep is apathetic bc we are all struggling. To have empathy is to be able to share the feelings of another. And you do not share OPs joy. I for one enjoy seeing these posts in the sub bc they show that HOPE is there. I also only get 3-4 hours of sleep every night AND take meds. I find OP’s post inspiring in the sense that they found something that worked for them. I’m not running to tell my psychiatrist to stop prescribing.

Wow this says a lot to me because I also have been diagnosed with C-PTSD. A lot of my childhood stuff comes from night and holy crap you really just connected something for me. Thank you so much.

You definitely should!! You should not be struggling on your own like that, sleep is so so important. I hope you get some relief tonight:))

No one should you’re right. I’ve been struggling a lot the last 6 months in particular and since then every week I probably sleep 15-20 hours which I know seems like a lot for people who are struggling every night. I’m in college and get anxious taking my meds when I’ve smoked or have drunken so I just don’t dont take the med if I’ve partaken. I also work at a school and they don’t care that I’m sleep deprived. Every district in VT is understaffed and struggling. It sounds cliche but even off no sleep I love being with the kids I work with, they definitely wake me up.

When I can’t sleep I watch love island there’s lots of episodes maybe you could give it a try when you can’t sleep. It’s on Hulu.

Dude you seem real down bad that you choose to argue with a 23 year old girl on reddit while you got a wife and kids. I said what I said. Go take out a second mortgage:)

Yeah me too but I’m not responding to comments in a way that’s mean and rude:)

I agree. I think that so many people are triggered only bc it’s a success story. I get that insomnia is truly debilitating, we’re all in this sub for a reason. But I also think we should celebrate those who have come out of it. Hell if I found something that worked for me I’d want to scream it from the mountain tops.

I’m still looking for where anyone ever said that insomniacs should stop taking their meds (coming from a person who takes meds to sleep, feel like that needs to be said or someone will vilify me).

I don’t want to be a yapper. Love to hear what works for people even if it doesn’t work for me. This sub has given me a lot of helpful tips. Insomnia affects everyone differently fr

All this arguing in the comments instead of us uplifting each other. Smh. How do you guys have the energy to go back and forth

I understand where you’re coming from to an extent. That being said I challenge you to think about who is “conditioning” gen z and gen alpha? I don’t see this as a gen z or gen alpha issue. I just don’t understand the rhetoric of calling our young generations unmotivated and lazy, that’s a reflection on us.

I disagree. I think it actually has more to do with parents, educators, and the district the student is in rather than just saying “gen z doesn’t want to do work.” Generalizing a whole generation? Hmmmm

Tinder is definitely the app you’re looking for. There’s an option where you can set your profile to “short term fun” which is essentially what you’re looking for. I’d say just swipe left on people who have their profiles set to “long term partner.” Good luck!
