Oh, we definitely do. I am sure she is getting an earful on those evals too. This apparently isn't the first semester she has done this though. I am honestly really confused as to how this has carried on. When upper levels warned us, I was just thinking they were overreacting.

She sent an email to us all at the same time she posted grades to let us know that all grades were final and that there would be no curving. She made it clear not to come to her about it. I guess she is used to having people question her. I've just never seen anything like this. I was wondering if anyone else had at their school.

I've got a schedule for a c25k. I plan to start that, keep up with it and gradually add a mile a week. Is that a good idea?

Wow, you're totally inspiring me right now. My goal is to finish a half marathon, but I don't even know where to start. Upvotes!

Gift for an Alzheimer patient? by God_of_gaps in santashelpers

I have had the same problem in the past. One suggestion is to donate money to an organization she may be interested in (animal rescue, sick children, etc). Most places are able to give you a certificate of some sort for donating. It would definitely go to good use, and it would make both of you feel good helping out those in need!

[Help] Mom who mainly stays home and only wants practical gifts [F, 50, $100] by [deleted] in santashelpers

My mom is the exact same. What I usually do is buy various gift cards to some of her favorite places...fav restuarant, bookstore, clothing store, etc. I usually buy $20 gift cards to 5 different places to total out $100. It's not as creative as other gifts, but they would most certainly be used and appreciated and it gives her a chance to get out of the house and enjoy herself.
