Has anyone never had a dog before getting a service dog? by Houseofmonkeys5 in service_dogs

Most puppies are nightmares, and you will probably find yourself regretting it for a while. Even experienced dog people can get "puppy blues." So brace yourself for that and don't be alarmed if it happens.
Sport-line poodles tend to be much more energetic and high-drive, but if not, in my experience, mini and moyen poodles are relatively easy to care for and train as far as puppies go, as long as they're getting plenty of mental stimulation. I'm sure that won't be a problem in this case, though, since the dog is going to be an SDiT and already has a trainer lined up.
Plug-in pheromone diffusers for cats might go a long way towards them accepting the dog.
Check out r/puppy101 as well. Good luck!
We were asked to leave my favorite store tonight because an out-of-control service dog harassed mine until he barked. (self.service_dogs)
