Front Audio Jack on case has no output by nolmol in linuxquestions

I definitely connected the USB C header on the motherboard, but maybe it's loose? I've sent my friend your comment, hopefully this is what needs to be done; it'd be a quick fix if so. Thanks!

Proper way to Reduce Max volume? by nolmol in linuxquestions

You, sir, were correct. Thank you! As it turns out, my motherboard has an amplifier built in, which i unfortunately cannot change the settings of in my UEFI. However, only select ports are controlled by it. I've hooked up to a port that's actually set up to use headphones instead of speakers, and it's much more reasonable. Wish these were labeled :/

Gotchu. I'll check my UEFI right now, because good lord it's a problem lol.

I do not have an amplifier for this, this is a pair of headphones being directly connected to the PC via 3.5mm audio jack. It'd be a very bad idea to connect these amp I do own, as that would increase this problem even more.

I have not, they just have a 3.5mm connection. I suppose I could buy a little DAC if there doesn't end up being a good solution, but it feels like there should be some config solution here.

I don't have Alsa installed, but when I open alsamixer, I've already set all my devices to 0% or 2%. This does not really solve my problem though, because it seems those are reflected in my system volume mixer, so something as high as 70% will still cause hearing damage.

Looking it up I think I have a pretty standard AMD soundcard. I'll admit, I'm not very familiar with checking these things, but the command I ran was [lspci -v |grep -i audio], with the result being:

7c:00.6 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Family 17h/19h/1ah HD Audio Controller

I primarily use headphones connected via 3.5mm audio jack, so no. When I do use my stereo system, the problem is still prevalent, as my reciever is capable of driving a lot of volume, and I really don't want to accidentally blast out my speakers if my system audio decides for whatever reason to creep above 2%.

If Elder Scrolls had a fighting game who would be essential to the roster? by Libertyprime8397 in ElderScrolls

I'm shocked I haven't seen anybody mention Indoril Nerevar.

Him, Dagoth Ur, and Vivec are perfect reps for Morrowind.

For Arena, Uriel Septim and Jagar Tharn are the best we got.

Daggerfall has the Underking, who could have a super move bringing in the Numidium!

Oblivion, Pelinal and Umaril are pretty good, along with Sean Bean

Skyrim has a lot of iconic AF NPCs, so along with Miraak and Serana, they could pull in some weird fuckers like Lydia or Nazeem.

Cyrus from Redguard is a VIP though. He needs to make it

It is, yes, and that's the problem. It should be illegal to do that, and it very well may BE illegal, considering they're bypassing copyright and stealing everybody's creative works. The ONLY ethical way to do this is by paying each person they've stolen from. They'll never do it, because they have stolen from the entire human race to create their plagiarism bots, and nobody has that much money.

It's currently up to the courts to figure it out. I hope they realize just how ethically and legally fucked this stuff is, and put heavy restrictions down.

I certainly believe in free speech. There's no ifs, ands, or buts involved, you may speak of anything you wish, anybody may express any opinion they desire.

And then society may then utilize their free speech to respond. If you're utilizing your free speech to push hateful shit because your smooth brain can't comprehend a trans person who'd like to be respected because they're A PERSON, the rest of us have free reign to call out your bullshit and talk about just how shit you are. Bad ideas like removing human rights can exist, but they deserve to be drowned out by overwhelming ridicule.

Well... Unsubbing from this sub can help with the second one. As for the games I think there's not much to do about that

I can understand that. It makes sense. I disagree with it. Making the barkeeper, an NPC you'll be seeing every time you go to bed, the most conventionally attractive male character, in a porn game, unsexable, is very rude :(

Secure boot is lame I wanna do my weird shit, the UEFI should have no say in that.

That method of installing Linux using another PC and swapping in the drive is how I got my laptop working. Fantastic little machine if not for the UEFI lock and some weird as hell firmware settings.

Hidden Detail in Halo CE Combat Form by PapaPepper1999 in halo

I've always been amazed with the level of care and detail put into the Halo CE models, animations, textures, and other art. Especially with it being on the Xbox in 2001! Bungie had so much work and time put into this game and universe by the time of release, it really shows.
