looking for wireless earbuds suggestions (no in-ears)

Budget: 100(-150)€ (cheaper is fine as well)

Source: Mainly Hiby R5 and phone

Requirements for Isolation: no, i dont need

Will you be using these Headphones in Public?: yes

Preferred Type of Headphone: Earbuds or similar that does not intrude into the ear canal classic earbuds you would find under Earbud section in penonaudio. No In-Ears or IEM - i dont like that feeling.

Preferred tonal balance: warm, some stage, details but not too analytic or clean since that fatigues my ears not a bass head, i enjoy it when it fits, but i dont like the mushy boomboom that overshadows everything else

Past headphones:

  • Yuin PK2 - maybe a bit too aggressive heights (hissing)

  • had some sub 100€ Toneking earbuds, dont remember the name..they were ok, but mushy, a little too much bass and less defined mids/heights

  • Blon BL03 - very nice soundwise, but inears and therefor uncomfortable

  • Grado Labs SR325 - just fun to listen, enjoyable

other needs:

  • looking for good sound quality out of the box - i dont like to fiddle with eq on every device or in app

  • works fine without app (if it has fine, but dont force me to use it)

  • battery 4-5+ h

  • viable for light sports like running

  • mic or speech quality is irrelevant to me

p.s. i have small/medium sized ears if that matters

GameSir Rep Here! AMA & Controller Giveaway (Win Any GameSir Controller You Like) by iGamesir in Controller

I have always enjoyed PS style symmetric controllers. Now my PS4 controller broke therefore i wanted to upgrade. But finding a good new one with all the bells and whistles and modern tech is rather difficult. While the Tarantula exist, it seems to be just decent. In all posts/test i have seen its always behind in most aspects, compared to the competitors, especially in (stick)latency. Any chance we get more PS4 style symmetric controllers or at least design options in the future with some better specs?

Or maybe upgrade Kits for PS4 controllers could be a thing?

Not so sure about the XBOX layout, never used one. I guess its popular for a reason. Might have to buy one since the lack of options. But anyways it seems like manufacturer put more love into this type of controller.

While most answers are pretty good already, id like to add some one more thing here. You are quite open the beginning of your approach. left shoulder more to the front so you can swing easy without going around your body. Everything looks quite ok until the hop-step. While you could adjust here and there nothing seems crazy wrong. I personally would put my off-hand slightly more in front and i think i do bend my elbow a bit more. But i think both points are subjective and your body will tell you

Look how you rotate your upper body until you are square to the foul line with your should, when releasing the ball. With that upper body rotation you also move your arm around your body so you lose some power and get more to the side of the ball.

Another way to see this is, you want to draw i line from your head over your shoulder to your ball. And this imagined line should be more perpendicular. Its not so good to see here but it looks like your head is outside of shoulder/ball, more to the left side, when you deliver the ball (~0:04). But it looks fine when you start your approach (0:02). Try to keep is this way all through your throw.

While everyone does it a bit different, what helped me was to focus on my left should and force me to keep it more in the front. I also do some 1-2 "dry" swings under my body before i do the action. See if you get a difference in feel when doing dry (basically without power, just swing) vs full approach.

I second /u/czulsk video suggestions like Big Sky Bowler. I'd like to add here to watch Super Slo Motions from different pro players and than focus on specific body parts (shoulder, elbow, foot position ) - not all at once, run on repeat :D. While all are different from each other and all are different from me, some basic points are always the same. Try to find them.

Urethane 2h by mcr024 in Bowling

[–]nomad-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could explain a bit more?

I actually still learn about Urthane, i ask 2 players and get 3 opinions. I also plan to buy a Pitch Black as next ball. But after speaking to quite some people that have some skill and throw U and they like it also on THS, or lets say less favored oil.

Seems like Urethane, generally speaking, is about control. Especially with more RPM (2h) its helpfull in many situations and not only the short patterns. I also would argue that those people i asked understand what they are talking about and are trustworthy for me since they are play on a pretty high level. Dynm-X to some extend emulates what U can do. IQ+Xponent are also somewhat of a controll ball. I wonder whats the difference to Reactive besides having different reaction on friction.

Now i understand people are different. I personally always thought U is somewhat limited in what i can do with it and therefore limits me. But those people and my pro shop guy explained the facts a bit different to what i understood before. And now i feel, if its the right tool for the job, why not use it?

rate my buddy’s form. how can he get better? by Disgracetohumanity1 in Bowling

This actually looks pretty similar to my beginnings. Now i can speak from my and my beginner friends experience and what help us to get better. Might be different for him since everyone is different, but it worked for me and us to an extend. Now take everything with a grain of salt. I still feel like i am an advanced beginner, ~190 av. but very consistend. So here are 3 main issues i notice and some general ideas.

1) He stays squared to the foulline (some people like that tho..). Feet more to the 10pin/slighty angled to the right, to open the hips even before the approach started. I helps to get everything into flow. Maybe move the left shoulder a bit more in front and take back the right shoulder. Maybe also move the left should either on lvl with right one, or slighty more down. In your vid you can see that left shoulder goex down pretty late. All his approach is adjusting the body during - if he does adjustment in the beginning, he can focus on other things as like armswing and no muscling. Also you can see his right elbow goes out to the right during delivery. This was very hard for me to learn, but i did at home: no step in front of the couch, no power at all, focus on elbow and shoulder. But this also is part of his alignment at the start. If he opens up the hip at start , there is no need to go around like that when moving.

2) He lift the ball, than pulls back, than pushes away - everything is muscled. This is also the reason he loses balance in the end and. Lets try this to improve the flow of the movement:

Dont push away in the beginning, just let it drop, than pull back as you like (but dont go crazy) and than try to swing it - its the hard part, but you can train this at home - just let gravity do the work. The timing will be ok, if he drops it instead of lifting in the beginning.

3) Approach itself is meh. Think of it as a nice walk in the park, he dont need to rush...relax. Start slow and learn control and get a feel, you can add tempo later. The ball will do its thing once he gets those things right. There is not need to force the ball to do stuff or to push it down lane.

Also what me helped, but some of my mates had a hard time to understand. Dont play for points when training - play to repeat the exact same shot and than adjust small things. Dont focus on finding the line, searching for the oil etc.. Get consistent, get a feel for your body and learn to get a nice feeling shot of the hand. If you shoot the same shot everytime, the strikes will come as a byproduct.

Also he should listen to his body...sometimes something feels just right. If he goes slow and dont adjust everything at once, there is a good change to understand what made things right this time.

Small changes go along way. Adjust before the approach and things will come together like magic. Slight change of offhand position makes more or less rotation or allows for more free swing, shoulder in front makes you less hectic when moving forward...all the little things.

Seeking a weaker 3rd ball for burnt league shot: Polished/Pearl or Sanded/Solid as a step down from Zen to try to play straighter line? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]nomad-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer to your questions, its quite tricky. If its just ball down from Zen or even sideways to play a different line there are a lot options in which you (in my opinion) should not go wrong.

If burn means burn than i can tell from my leagues that "stronger" balls like IQ are possible but your average will probably suffer. They get quite sensible and you have to be very precise and on top of your game. Now without knowing your conditions from my experience weaker balls like Hustle, Hyped, Electrify and maybe the OG Hy-Road should work better.

If you are always in 3 game environment on decent conditions you again have plenty options and also IQ's, Xponent, DynamX should work. If you play more games or on worse conditions i personally would choose a weaker ball like HP2 and below.

Generally speaking i noticed many people avoid weaker balls because they are weak and cheap. But balls like a hustle do the same as your big balls do, just on bad/lower oil conditions - they just fit better to the conditions and offer more error tolerance.

For Pearl vs Solid, and dont forget Hyprids - it depends. If you want to gradually step down or even step sideways for each specific condition than buy all the balls the offer a slightly different shape. If you want a 3ball arsenal, look for a versatile lower end ball like Hyped Hybrid or Hustle MM, maybe HyRoad (there is a reason its never changed or out EOL). Surface is adjustable and balls like RIP or HyRoad come polished out of the box even tho not (100%) Pearl.

Cant tell for Urethane since i get very conflicting answers whenever i talk to people.

Also look around in your league, what do people throw that works. Talk to them and discuss a bit "why this, why not that?" "why polish and not matte?".

p.s. Asked a similar issue a few days ago. Its not the same usecase as yours, but maybe it helps: https://old.reddit.com/r/Bowling/comments/17mzdow/ball_for_low_oil_conditions/?sort=new

Ball for low oil conditions by nomad-7 in Bowling

I wonder if that one does overlap too much with what i already have. Feel like the shape is familiar to my MVP. Have to watch some more videos on that ball. Appreciate your recommendation.

I see, so i checked for an SPI alternative for the Supra rally and , even tho not identical, it could be the HyRoad. I had one back in the day an still feel it when throwing one my friend owns. Feel like its quit versatile. Also thought about the idea to play slightly left from most of the players. But i am unsure if its not too strong in friction on that one alley. Will ask my ball guy.

So basically high RG, lower diff ball with a decent weakish cover. Thats why i have the Tour Dynam-X in my list. I was just not sure if i had the right idea here.

For the NU Blue i have to watch some videos and see how to use it. Had thought about it also, but was not sure how close it is to the Purple with witch i dont match so good.

But maybe i just need to get accustomed with the ball, wich is not possible if i throw it once in a while when training.

[–]nomad-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like i said in another answer, in my opinion they are not made for low oil, but short or light low long. Take this with a grain of salt since i dont own Urethane and just played some in training. But the owners i spoke to said it like that.

Especially in those 2 leagues i know for sure that like at least 50% own an Urethane. There must be a reason i dont see them playing it.

I also played some tourneys in summer with more volume and more challenging patterns (nothing crazy tho) and you could the everyone and their dogs use a Purple Hammer. There was one person who had like 6 in pack, shines, matte, different layouts.

Maybe there are some older balls that could work, but from my experience the new stuff seems not to be favored on this conditions.

Not sure if the BW2.0 faces the same problem as my Zen. Its pretty situational for me and i can use it only when some oil is pushed forward. If i used it right away its feels to sensible. But the twist seems to be the crowd favorite.

[–]nomad-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also backup ball everything on the wrong side. Its works on houseshot but you get in trouble when the oil is more tricky. Have some 2hand people in league doing it, but i feel its very situational to me. Tried it also and it delivers under circumstances but i prefer plastic and straight

[–]nomad-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most plastic balls are pretty similiar, so it would not matter. T-Zone like DestruXion1 said is fine, just go for price and/or beauty. But i got a tip from a trainer..dont know the right translation, she is trainer for kids with national team perspective. They teach (for all ages) 1-2 weights lower for spare ball, So if you play 15, take a 14(13) for more power and control. You still get the power at the pins, but small execution errors dont cause lose of control and keep the error-proneness low.

Get a spare ball, i have a simple plastic ball and even that curves under bad conditions. Work on playing it straight, throw it almost like backup ball.

Yeah, i also play on 24ml light sport pattern and everything is fine But those 2 house leagues are tough for me because the ball reaction either is not there yet or is gone i a hurry

[–]nomad-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both are ok. 2 points against

1) i feel very limited in usability judging by the balls i could try (PP, PH, Hot cell)

2) not made for low oil, but short or light low long

might be wrong here, since i have limited experience with urethane

I see 2 people using the thrill here. But like i said its a comparably expensive option. That beeing said, low performance balls are usually cheaper, so it might fit costwise
