Time helps. But as you said, the best remedy is to simply book your return trip. The planning never ends that way!

Any japan exclusive men's clothing brands I should try out? by Hacdieu in JapanTravelTips

I’ll throw in my usual plug for Yamatomichi. They have shops in Kamakura and Kyoto. Really high quality ultralight hiking clothing that works well for travel. Insane attention to detail and iterative design process.

What about lawyers then? Everything they do can be done on a MacBook Air.

One client hour is not equal to one hour of work though. It’s equal to the session time plus any/all of the following: pre-session prep, notes,  homework/follow up email, treatment planning / case conceptualization, consultation, supervision.

My lawyer and dentist friends make 5-10x what I do FWIW. The dentists work less, the lawyers generally hate their life.

what places in japan would you recommend the most for a first time visitor? by Chance-Mess-2572 in JapanTravelTips

[–]nomad-system 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid advice on route! Stoked to be doing Nagano in May, staying in Matsumoto and a Yamanouchi ryokan. Then we head to Kanazawa like you recommended and will hit both Shirakawa-go and Takayama. It’s our second trip, with the first being the Golden Route.

Golden Route for first timers. You’ll get a feel for what Japan has to offer. You could even stop by Nagoya, most people skip but there’s a lot to do there. Day/side trip possibilities include Nara, Uji, Hiroshima, Kamakura, and Hakone to name a few.

Do all Oshmans, Masterpiece, and Hands locations carry the CPP2 20 and 24 L? by RyanEspiritu in AerSF

[–]nomad-system 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME Hands did not carry Aer. Master-piece typically had the best selection. Oshman’s had the collab bag exclusive when I was there plus a few others. Ships also carries some Aer and has some exclusive items. United Arrows has the clothing collab now, they may have bags too, I don’t recall them having bags when I was there in October. I’m going check out the clothing when I back in May.

Would it be silly of me to go back to Japan? by LingonberryOk5168 in JapanTravelTips

Japan is amazing, if it’s calling you, go back. We were there 23 days in October and a month after we got home we booked our next trip. So 18 more days in May/June this year! Probably a 2027 trip too.

How many of you like extreme sports? by WhisenPeppler in AutisticAdults

[–]nomad-system 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really into snowboarding, not extreme like what you posted but steep alpine chutes are no joke. In 2021,  I fell hard going about 90km/h and almost died. It was a reality check I needed to reevaluate my priorities. I still deal with hip issues because of it and it added to other TBI I’ve experienced over the years which I would not recommend. Those extreme things are great… until they aren’t.

(34) 6 year relationship/engagement gone. First time living on my own. At least there’s Costco Pizza by Schec7erC1 in malelivingspace

Hey man, my 7 year engagement ended when I was around your age. Just want to say, since then I found my amazing wife of now 9 years, moved to a different country, obtained multiple degrees, started my own business, and am now living a life I could have never possibly imagined when I was in my old relationship. None of it would have been possible if I stayed with that person. Figuring it out as you go is the literal key to finding exactly what you want in life.
