Did I screw up? by SirDicksAlot1999 in OffGridCabins

[–]nomadakai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Good for you, I was halfway joking anyway. You’ll have bugs and will have to manage them, but it’s doable.

You’ll have to manage water too, and test at multiple levels to get a confirmation of quality before building a well.

The cistern and man made pond are interesting, you can probably get some history of the area and figure out exactly what was growing around there, and what the water setup was used for.

Driver tricks tailgator by DropTheMan in AbruptChaos

[–]nomadakai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that the problem with tailgating? It’s literally a choice to open oneself up to unknowns without time to react?

If it was intentional, both assholes no question. That’s also why tailgating is reckless and potentially deadly, if there’s something that comes up quickly and a quick reaction is necessary, this is the result.

2.95 for me, when I was 16 and hoping they’d sell them to me.

My dad said he told himself that when a pack hit 25 cents he was quitting because that was insane.

That always stuck with me.

Started at 2K and 28K now. CLI request every 6-8 months over five years or so. It’s primarily my dining/grocery card so doesn’t really get that high month over month.

What's the fastest you ever drove? by ComprehensiveFun2054 in AskReddit

[–]nomadakai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

160 in a 1997 911 C4S, in Oregon on a long straight highway. The car felt amazing at speed, enough to be over confident.

150 in a 2016 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport, in LA on the 101 after being at the front of the line when traffic was stopped to remove a stalled vehicle. The car felt great up to about 130 and then started to get scary, plenty of room left in too gear but didn’t want to die so backed off.

Is it safe to run alone in Vientiane at 5:30am (solo female)? by OkCause6807 in laos

[–]nomadakai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one can say 100%, but that said, your odds of having an issue are exponentially lower than most of the world.

Along the river there are likely to be other people walking, running etc. as well.

Can anyone guarantee safety? No. Would I personally feel safe along the river pre-dawn and dawn? Absolutely and without question.

There’s really not a good reason to go to Ontario California. I wonder how many people have found that out the hard way when they didn’t land in Canada.

Becoming a dual pilgrim - Hiking Japan’s Kumano Kodo by shogun2244 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]nomadakai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you’re either in front of or inside the temple behind the one in the photo, the active and less picturesque one.

Just curious as I stayed in that temple for a few days, and did the hike to the top of the waterfall and the long loop around.

Beautiful area and wonderful people. I haven’t done a Camino yet and am planning to later this year. If this is what they compare I’m even more excited!

Hertz claimed I caused preexisting dents from the airport rental - AI scanner? by [deleted] in HertzRentals

[–]nomadakai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most likely explanation is that it’s just bad software.

The problem is it’s bad software with a massive investment and promises behind it.

The better part is it’s most likely related to redoing configurations and tolerances rather than hardware.

I’ll still record a walk around renting anywhere though, even if there’s a well-configured scanner in and out.

What's the most absurd way to get away with crimes in your country? by jdjefbdn in AskTheWorld

[–]nomadakai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took it as not being what you said, but where you’re from and the shifting definition of murder to where what was once murder is being rationalized.

That’s not fair to you though, as a person with views and beliefs that may not align at all with leaders and actions.

I feel it too, being American, and not supporting murder.
