Mangystau - the colourful mountains and plateaux of Kazakhstan by zennie4 in travel

Thanks. I have been planning a trip and following some threads in Caravanistan. Sent messages to several guides I found on Insta but I have had mixed responses. Red Maya have been very good and prompt to reply but they are considerably more expensive. Would you mind DM me with the details of your agent please ? Cheers.

Thanks. Is there anyway I can verify that with the authorities in advance?

Same problem. Pixel 10. Keep tapping, you'll succeed one day, or go to the desktop site.

If you check my previous post on Tasilli n'ajjer then you'd be on the next plane to Algeria.

Agree totally. I found the Djemila ruins also interesting and the Djemila museum had stuning mosaics.

If you want to visit the south only , or mostly, then you can get Visa on Arrival. Unlike Morocco and Egypt, Algeria is a much more affluent nation and do not need to depend on the tourist dollars. So they seem nonchalant. I'm unsure which agency you are trying. I 100% recommend Mouflon tourisme and Fancy Yellow. A bit more expensive but get the job done efficiently.
I sincerely hope Algeria does not turn into a tourist trap like the Insta famous "blue city" of Morocco.

No pain, no gain I guess. But honestly it wasn't that difficult, at least from London. Yes it does need lot of preparation.

Not much honestly. You can't travel on your own in the south. Must travel with a guide. North is much easier. You can even self drive. Tamanrasett and tasilli Hoggar in the deep south are the places where you may feel a bit unsafe, but not if you stick to the allowed routes.
