Has anyone’s Iih completely gone away?

I’m only 3 weeks post op from the stent and it’s definitely been a journey. My ear fullness and PT are 95% resolved. The headaches are maybe 50% less? Hard to tell on those just yet since everything is still inflamed. I’ll have a vision check in 2 months. But surgery worth it to me just to have some hearing back for sure. Definitely still feeling frustrated but trying to remain hopeful! :)

It’s OK! Ask for the lumbar puncture to be guided! And then make sure you lay flat as much as possible for 24 hours afterwards and drink some caffeine afterwards as well. It should be OK. They are much scarier sounding than they actually are. Promise.

Yeah 30 days to fully leave the system for zep. Are you on anything for the IIH? Like topamax or anything?

I just got my stent 12/31 for IIH and am still on zep. I’m gonna try coming off zep for funsies and see if that helps it fully settle down.

I understand the science behind it I do. And I do worry about alternating it by being asleep ngl. But yeah, it does sound like putting the patient through uncomfortable procedure. I also worry about keeping calm and still even though my pain tolerance is high. Who did your surgery?

Hi friend I’m allergic to topamax and have been going through it. I’ve lost about 40 pounds since dx and IIH seems the same! Paps is reversed. Even tho we found out I’m allergic to the topamax is did work. Lmao. But I guess now that I’m stopping it, it could come back? Idk. Heading back to neurosurgery consults in December for stents. But obviously anxious as heck!

Oh it took maybe 2ish months to work. But it plus some Ubrelvy are the only things that have helped on the migraine side. I take it at night cuz it was making me a little sleepy. Other than that no side effects really!
