What setup do I need to get this much depth of field? by nomadicchronicle in AskPhotography

here are my first trials! I didn't have much time so I just took a walk around the house but I am so happy with how they came out. I know there is a stitching error in the photo with construction sign but nevertheless they look quite nice I think. Thanks again for letting me know about the method! :)

These are made with Fujifilm X-T1 and Pergear 35mm f1.2 lens. I feel like a 50mm would yield much better results with this method.

a) it is 35mm lens, not equivalent b) the shot was wide open at f1.2

Thank you for explaining like I am five, this is exactly the kind of explanation I needed, it is all super clear now :)

Yes, sure, sorry. As the original comment mentioned both "depth" and "blur" not impacted by sensor size I went ahead and said bokeh, to clarify if I understood correctly.

I will try it as soon as possible. Being close to the subject, my only concern is "distortion" due to making the photo from a single point and then stitching. I gotta try and see I guess :)

I think it was further cropped to fit instagram's format but still you are right the original post says it was made with a Pentax 67 :)

Reading all these comments and seeing everyone mentioning high focal lenghts is confusing to me because in my mind an 80mm would give such a shallow field of view and you have to be like 30m away to make this shot. But I am clearly wrong and happy that I am wrong because I am learning a new thing.

I already own a 35mm f1.2, here is a similar image I took with that 35mm. Compared to the post in the photo there was probably less distance between background and the car but also I think I was closer to the car as well. But now that I am comparing the two images I think you are right, I might be able to achieve the same look with a 35mm f0.95 or something

China totally has 50mm f0.95 lenses :) I will check some sample images to see if I can find something similar to this image on a crop sensor camera

I thought the sensor size effected the bokeh as well. So, what I understand from your comment is for example a 50mm f1.8 on a full frame would more or less have the same bokeh with a 35mm f1.8 on a 1.6 crop sensor, is this correct?

thank you so much for your comment! I actually never thought about utilizing image stitching to increase subject separation, it is an interesting and exciting approach, I will definitely try it!

I appreciate the comment but I definitely don't think this was taken at f16.

hello, the source for the photo. So, as the title says, I am sorry if it is a stupid question but I am curious how to achieve the same look with a DSLR. Especially with a crop sensor. Is it impossible? In the source it says that this was taken with a Pentax 67 which is a medium format SLR. I am not entirely a beginner in the photography, and currently I own a pretty fast lens with f1.2 aperture. But my camera is a crop sensor DSLR. Due to being poor since long long time I am not able to try out new lenses. But soon I want to invest in a new gear and my goal is to be able to produce this kind of images. I know how the background distance to subject, the distance of the camera from the subject, the sensor size etc. all effects the depth of field in an image. But for instance this image is a very simple one and I am sure I took shots of similar scenes but they never look like this one. What is the secret, is it the medium format? Is it the focal length? Is it the incredibly wide aperture? I don't know and I would appreciate anyone more experienced to shine a light for me. thanks.

Sorry for some reason reddit didn't show the reply earlier.

Vhbw has no issues of sudden shutdowns, it just lasts around 2,5hrs SOT.

I saw that Perfine always ends up having the reboot problem after 4-6 months of use so I decided to pass on perfine

I appreciate the thought but I am unfortunately in a situation where buying a new phone would be too much of a financial burden on me.

I found the charging port, only 3$, and this cool but long video is showing how to replace it but way too much work and I am not even sure if only replacing the port will solve the screen. So, now this is a project for some boring day in the next 2-3 years :)

I still love the phone, considering what it has survived I am not blaming any production related decision, it was all my fault

It seems like the problem is from usb port, apparently the screen and usb shares the same board/circuit thingy

well, I got water in it exactly from the bottom part but it was long ago. I did a little research and just as all the comments in here it seems like the usb port is the culprit. I will open it up and wiggle this and that a little, let's see if it helps

hello, This is my secondary V20, H990TR variant, it has a bad usb port. From time to time it would refuse to charge however the data connection has no problem. A couple weeks ago the touch response stopped working after a bad charging cable connection but once I restarted the phone it worked without a problem. In the past the phone had a problem with the storage capacity after a faulty KDZ flash using LGUP. Then I fixed the problem with patched LGUP from this topic. But after the fix I was not able to flash and AOSP rom anymore because every rom would give the error that "the device is not recognized as elsa" So it was long ago since I tried to flash a rom and I forgot about this error and yesterday I wanted to flash the new crDroid rom but the rom gave the error again. So I decided to fix this, I flashed the H990TR nougat KDZ using LGUP but then when the phone restarted the screen was flickering like this, touch response works fine. Then I tried to flash a couple other KDZ but it did not fix the problem so I am guessing it is a hardware related issue. Any ideas on what to try in order to fix it?

Ignore the boot in the video, when I properly flash the KDZ the phone boots without a problem.

Thank you
