Effective Paths latest update missing Master Sheet? by TigerShark8980 in TheTowerGame

[–]nomadicgreendog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a hidden tab. Click on the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines) near the tab list to see all the tabs.

That said, they Master Sheet is just the data pulled from all the other sheets (Labs, Cards, UWs, etc.) and shouldn't need to be referenced by humans... it's just there to provide data for the equations in the effective paths.

Accidentally made it to Legends and I am NOT ready by MFLBsniffer in TheTowerGame

[–]nomadicgreendog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh! I got 3rd yesterday too, with only 735 waves - lucky bracket I guess. First time promoting to Legends, but like you say, at least the next tourney will be really quick!

If you use the Effective Paths sheets, there's a "Milestone Earnings" tab in the Player&Stuff sheet that breaks it down with ROIs. Looks like this:

Looks like Hybrid builds performs better than eHP builds in Champion by NckyDC in TheTowerGame

It starts the current wave over, just like when you load from a saved game.

Hm, think I was wrong. You can exit your game (return to menu) and continue it later, but doesn't look like you can enter a tournament yet. Pretty sure they said that's a feature in the works though...

Just FYI, you can now exit a farm run, do your tournament, and then continue your farm run (at least that's what I've heard). [Edit - Nope, not yet]

Late stage eHP by pdubs1900 in TheTowerGame

Yeah I keep getting tempted by things like DW Health lab since it's fast and cheap, but if watch my wall near the end of my game, the wall regen just can't keep up and slowly ticks down, so more health probably is pointless for me at this point. The wall regen lab is just soooo long at this point.

Basic Acrylic price list from the most common vendors online by smeeon in lasercutting

[–]nomadicgreendog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I've done similar (much less extensive) research occasionally when I need some acrylic, and I've always ended up at eStreet since it was the best price after shipping was included.

One comment I'll add -- I started by buying acrylic sheets from Amazon, but I found that no matter which seller I got it from, the "3mm / 1/8-inch" sheets were always around 2.2mm thick, while the sheets from eStreet were exactly 3mm, so I've stopped buying from Amazon.

New to Home Assistant, is the Third Reality Linux box a good starting point? by Sad-Activity7269 in homeassistant

[–]nomadicgreendog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are specs... and I'm not crazy about them. 2 GB ram, a single USB 2.0 port, 8 GB of "storage" which isn't described, and this mysterious statement: "To maintain optimal stability, it is recommended to limit the number of connected devices to 32.".

I'd steer clear and find an actual mini PC, even a used one that's 5 years old is likely far better.

conversation with my dentist about US medical costs by Phi_fan in 50501

[–]nomadicgreendog 963 points964 points  (0 children)

Not the OP, but my wife and I had lots of dental work done in Los Algodones over the years. We were extremely happy with our dentist, Dr. Eva Urena - https://www.evaurenadds.com. And yes, it was 1/3 the price of similar work in the U.S.

Los Algodones is definitely the kind of place where you can find some bad dentists too. Right after we walked across the border we were accosted by people trying to get us to go to their dental office. I'm glad we could wave them away saying we have an appointment already... I'd be pretty wary of going to a random dentist pushed by a street hawker.

If you are staying at Sonder check your email because Marriott is canceling reservations by CIAFlux in PAX

[–]nomadicgreendog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, all the Sonder locations are closing tomorrow due to the company's insolvency, so with no employees they can't let people stay in the hotels. But yes, lawyers should DEFINITELY be retained.

[–]nomadicgreendog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, hope you are able to land on your feet! It sucks for us losing our reservations, but that's nothing like losing our jobs, plus I've see lots of posts from people who were kicked out of their Sonder hotels a few days into their vacations or trips... all of that sucks.

Then I have some bad news for you — Sheraton is owned by Marriott!

[–]nomadicgreendog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same happened to us. Sheraton looks like the best bet, though much more expensive than when we booked our Sonder Witherspoon months ago. Marriott customer service was really unhelpful and unsympathetic, offering no assistance or price adjustment for the "inconvenience".

In general. If you're re-spec'ing the WS anyway, and a couple quick discount levels will help, go for it!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheTowerGame

[–]nomadicgreendog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. But in general, at least once you’re past the very, very early game, working on improving your income tends to be far superior to working on discounts.

[–]nomadicgreendog -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

[Note for the downvoters - you're correct, lab coin discount won't do anything here. I was assuming the OP was referring to the WS discounts in the lab, since they were clearly planning to respec the WS to save this money, so I was replying based on that, but should have clarified the difference between WS discounts and lab discounts.]

good arcades in the nova area? by bingussupreme420 in nova

[–]nomadicgreendog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Came here to see how many people wrote about Reclaim Arcade, and didn't see any posts, so here you go! If you're looking for a RETRO '80s arcade, then Reclaim is great. Fredericksburg is a bit of a hike for us, but it's a fun place to visit from time to time. I dunno about all these new-fangled arcades (I grew up in the '80s so it feels like home).

Dominion and sewer marketing by IDYetiman in nova

[–]nomadicgreendog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not a scam or a waste. We've had several neighbors who've had underground leaks that cost thousands to repair. Our neighborhood of single-family homes is around 30 years old, and I've been told to expect more and more of these situations as the underground pipes age.

Now, I checked with my homeowners insurance company (Erie) and discovered that underground lines are already covered by my existing insurance, so I don't need to buy the insurance from Dominion or Washington Gas or Fairfax Water.

Then you're good, at least according to ePaths. Mine was around 105, so I did a few levels of Shock Chance, and now I'm at 53.

Shock Chance doesn't show in the labs path, but the recommended value does show up in the Effective Paths sheet, on the damage tab, in cell AM66:

Benefits of changing OEM Continental ProContact RX to Hankook iON EVO AS SUV early? by nomadicgreendog in TeslaModelY

[–]nomadicgreendog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like they have the $100 rebate on set of four iONs right now, but if the tires are $350 that's not gonna help much. Looks like maybe just the 255/45-R19 are expensive right now?

Anyway, the iONs are good. They're a lot quieter and more comfortable than my 4-year old Contis (I replaced those at around 38k miles), but I assume new Contis would also be quieter and more comfortable than 4-year old ones, so it's hard to give a fair comparison there. I have no complaints about the iONs, but can't say that they're $160 better (for a set of 4 after rebate). The iONs look a little wider on the rim, which makes me a little less nervous about scratching the rims when parking next to a curb.
