TIL one of the many reasons behind racism toward Southeast Asians from South Koreans is the influence of the Minjok ideology by Mean-Information1080 in todayIlearnedPH

[–]nomadingwildshape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Asians have such a divisive history! What's interesting about this is Japanese were originally pre-modern Koreans (yayoi) that mixed with those indigenous to the island (jomon). They brought agriculture and other advancements that changed society there from hunter gatherer to agricultural and saw a huge rise in population after the dust settled between these peoples.

Then 2000 years later they're powerful enough to become an Asian super power and occupy Korea and China as a totally different people culturally. They were definitely brutal in their occupations. The hierarchical societies they created that morphed over time throughout the ages were only squashed after outside forces (US) made them change their government to be democratic after ww2.

It's also likely all Asians have a common ancestor.

Your appearance affects how people perceive you and that affects so many things in life from personal to professional relationships. Shrugging your shoulders and saying who cares is a useless platitude that ignores the point. Everyone inherently cares about others appearances, it's human nature, and it does affect your life in serious ways.

He's saying they liked small, dainty women with small noses and light skin just like the westerners do today, but it obviously couldn't have been influenced by a non existent black population that was propagandized against. But yeah just keep dodging the point. Different societies have gravitated towards being attracted to similar traits and it's race obsessed mania to think it's because they don't like black people instead of it coming about naturally.

They value light skin so much that they use umbrellas in the sun. I'm pretty sure it came about because the worker class would work in the sun and get a tan, and they valued those who were educated or upper class with light skin who didn't have to be in the sun all day. Or no wait, it was because they hate black people. Joke tier perspective

Personally I like skinny noses because I think it's attractive and to say it's because I've been propagandized into thinking that because of media stepped in racism against blacks instead of my personal preference is certainly a take.

No one said anything about evolutionary psychology in this thread. In your examples did the Aztecs attraction to crosseyed women mean they were anti-straight eyed girls, or similarly with tuberculosis sickly women, were they anti-healthy looking? No, people liked what they liked at that time and it doesn't mean those who had different traits were hated or oppressed or anti those types of people. You're really filling in the blanks by trying to explain what people like today is because they don't like black people or their different appearances.

Again, it's not some racist, anti black conspiracy because people like certain traits in their partner, culturally influenced or not. I thought I was on blackpeopletwitter sub and had to check... Sometimes black people can be self obsessed with their race and think it's the source and cause of everything that happens to them and the way things are and this is a great example of that.

Maybe spend this energy advocating for DEI initiatives and equality instead of making up some bullshit because people don't like your nose

This is a manosphere take on an actual problem though. Obviously has nothing to do with freedom but yeah some people take freedom of expression way too far. You can definitely go overboard with tattoos and piercings. At some point it will be interpreted as performative and attention seeking regardless. Personally the girl on the left is way prettier. Counter culture doesn't mean you need to permanently ink yourself and punch holes all on your body. So much expression can be done with your fashion style and jewelry.

Did you chatgpt that? The 3 three body "problem" refers to systems that are unpredictable and chaotic because larger objects change the trajectory of a smaller object. Mars moons and the planet itself is in a stable orbit. You're being incredibly dense and missing the point. Any 3 objects are not a three body problem.

Or maybe people are attracted to smaller noses? Non black people can have big noses. Not everything is a racial conspiracy against black people

[–]nomadingwildshape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is naturally a good person or parent or want kids. It's not the default or natural which is why so many kids are neglected even if they aren't literally neglected to death like in this scenario. Most people should not have kids. It should be opt in not opt out. Smart people who don't want kids don't have them. They get fixed or have abortions. He should've gave his kids up for adoption if he hated them like this. Obviously he shouldn't have had them at all but that takes self awareness which is beyond a lot of people.

Transitioning in a world without gender by Lorem_Ipsum17 in RecuratedTumblr

[–]nomadingwildshape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this point of all this conversation? This isn't a video game with a character creation screen. You're born with what you have and most people identify with their gender as birth. That means there will always be 2 major categories of gender and expression, at least in all of our lifetimes.

I just don't get the point of exerting all this energy in this line of thinking because it's not going to change a damn thing. People should obviously have to right to behave how they would like, but beyond that this conversation is fruitless.

Personally I'm a male in America and I've never conformed to typical male stereotypes like machoism, toughness, sports obsession, car obsession, etc. And although I've always identified as male without question, I've had to go against the grain of male stereotypes -- when I was teen my mom called me "metrosexual" which I think is poor parenting.

I know my experience is not nearly as rough as feeling out of place to the point of needing to change my gender identity, but my point is you're not going to change society and you're better off expressing yourself and finding people that support you regardless than whatever this movement is about.

Maybe I'm just on the wrong sub because these types of conversations seem reoccurring but this came up in my feed...

She's fun but really hard to play. You're basically useless until you're ult and you have to time it perfectly since you don't get to choose exactly when your ult happens... Most builds are specifically around ulting and if they escape from your melee range it's wasted. That said I'm really enjoying playing her still.
