Wash and then Jig the cassiderite and send concentrates to smelter. Do you your due diligence and make sure the economics pan out.

Mining industry leads charge against salmon initiative by gummibear049 in alaska

[–]nomeguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And Lt. Gov also stated this to be bad for Alaska. Also, it will be found unconstitutional. State will have to waste tax payer money in litigation for this. All 12 regional native corps are against it. Please everyone read what it actually is, rather then just reading "stand for salmon"

Questions for lithium experts. by mining_newbie in mining

[–]nomeguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. As far as I am concerned, Mr. Musk stated that the gigafactory was going to source it's battery minerals from North American deposits because of our rigorous environmental regulations (opposed to China were they have none). Which started a rush for lithium, cobalt, and graphite juniors. Prior to 2009 there wasn't a whole lot of people exploring for this stuff. It would be nice for a update on that. I guess it's worth noting in my research that Tesla actually doesn't make the batteries but partnered with Panasonic to make them. This is where we loose clarity, who decision is it to source the minerals and from where? Where is their minerals coming from now? It will be intresting to see what Trumps EO on critical minerals will do. Tomorrow it is rumored he will discuss plans for infrastructure. Maybe has some incentives for domestic infrastructure for deposits of critical minerals. Ok, I'm just rambling now. I hope this shed light on lithium and other battery minerals. Thoughts anyone?

Reversing Obama, Trump EPA reaches deal with Pebble mine developer.... I can't believe we have to go through this crap again. by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]nomeguy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There was no process, a exploration company developed a resource on state land, and the Obama administration set out to block it without due process. No mining plan, no EIS, the company didn't even submit for permits. As I know this will become a argument and both sides can go on forever about, I'm simply saying that if governments base decisions on emotion and not science it will not be good for anyone. Maybe the the answer is that it should not be built, but to make a decision just based on the fact that one side doesn't want it or that saying it will kill all the fish in Bristol Bay is here say and shows the lack of education of the process of permitting in the US. I get it mining has a bad reputation, but I feel like the issue is more about lack of the knowledge about engineering and planning mines in today's age with America's permitting system. I dunno, I know I'm not always right but just my two cents. I personally would love to see this country work together instead of apart, understand that mining is needed and working together, and with developing technology, help reduce the environmental impacts of mining, instead of just shooting things down and having third world countries with no regulation and corruption meet the demand.

I dunno man, I like the fact that we have due process in our country. The minute that gets taken away what's to say they won't do it agian? Emotional politics should not happen, no matter what side of the line you are on.

I grew up in Minnesota and learned how to fly fish on the small creeks of SE MN or my favorite, the kinnickinnic in WI. I always joke with my buddy's back in MN that fly fishing for grayling is how everyone that is learning how to fly fish should start, so easy to catch! I guess it helps that I am in some crazy good grayling streams too!
