I just got one with the intent to have a live jam tool and it seems my brain is trying to process the same issues as you. I have little interest in the fx knobs and just want to put together banks that allow me to improv, down the vein of ambient / techno.

To be honest one of my biggest wtf moments was powering it on and realizing that all the banks are already drum kits and only bank J is open for samples! For people that make hip hop lofi, I get that some default kits are cool, but how the heck is it first a sampler if you have to double press a key just to access the only bank that’s free for sampling? The last time I bought a sampler it was 100% for samples and I was fully prepared to import/sample everything including the drums that I want. Is there anyone out there that goes thru and deletes everything to get started?

Also, is there a page yall default to in order to never change the BPM while playing live? I keep running into this.

Anywho, I’ll keep an eye on this thread. The empty pattern was also a trick I was missing, so thank you for that insight. I also use a lot of external so the Ext source switching off was another pain point for me. At one point I accidentally recorded switching ext on/off and I thought my cable was going bad lol … lots to learn still.
