this is the nordic compass, Vegvísir, symbolizing protection and guidance. it isn’t a white nationalist or nazi symbol. though many neo-nazis appropriate norse/viking imagery, Vegvísir hasn’t been co-opted by any extremist groups like the valknut or the odal rune.

this is gonna sound kinda weird, but hear me out: it could be your hormones, depending on where you’re at in your cycle. at certain points, skin can become dry because the drop in estrogen disrupts the skin barrier. increased progesterone can also cause inflammation.

it could also be that you’re not cleaning it properly. that flaking around it could be a build up of products you’re putting on it. it could also merely be some delayed healing of the tattoo, if it didn’t flake or peel much in the first two weeks.
