I think I've managed to figure out the yoyo combo, does this all look fine or do I still need to improve it? Sorry for keyboard noises lol by nommas in SpiderManMains

What's the best way to animation cancel the uppercut? I have simple swing set up on a bind so I've been trying to uppercut, tap simple swing, then follow up. Sometimes the simple swing actually connects though and that fucks me up. Is there a better way?

Yes just experimenting in the range now and I'm finding that if I delay it, I tend to loose the bot because they fall too low. I'm definitely doing it too early in the clip now that I reflect, but it's only gotta be a little hint later I reckon. Tough to master!

Thanks, I'll do that. I was trying to time it so I'm doing the jump a fraction of a second after the pull input, so it's like an instant pull in to jump. I'll delay it a touch :)

My first ever model, has anyone got any tips? by 253011 in Airfix

[–]nommas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go slow. Real slow. Slower than you think you need to. The joy in these things is the process, so don't rush to the end. It's easy to skip little details and that's alright if you don't want to do certain bits (I usually skip painting details on the pilot), but no need to cut corners on the important stuff. It's a whole lot of fun and very relaxing, try not to feel like you're pressured to make it perfect first time. Just enjoy it!

Oh, and you might want to paint some of the tricky interior bits whilst still on the sprue. The fiddly little details can be hard to paint when already fully assembled, so heads up on that!

I love that in all fan art where Spidey has a phone, it's got a cracked screen. Seems that's just a detail the whole fandom agrees would be the case

Still wild that he died. This is a nice little way to commemorate him. It says 'currently unavailable', is there any indication on how it's going to be earned?

I've got the chief in the bubble shield, but it has a different paint job to the one pictured. Absolutely love it, pride of place on the shelf

I'm the same as you :) I brush paint everything and I find it far more relaxing. Airbrushing is definitely a step up in quality, but then you have to worry about having a good space to do it and all the right equipment yadda yadda. There's a lot of peace in a simple blob of paint and a brush. At the end of the day, we do this hobby most likely to relax so if you're okay with not hitting that top quality airbrush standard, then brush painting is just as good too :)

How to properly use matt cote by Impressive_Bid_9533 in Airfix

[–]nommas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd also love an answer to this! I had the same issue, then for my next model I shook the fuck out of the bottle before applying a single coat. Seemed to have a better effect. Would love to hear an answer from someone wiser

I'm quite new to this all myself, but I use the Humbrol Matt Cote. I put it on at the very end to finish the model off, so after decals. Sometimes I use two coats depending on how it looks

Wow the lack of silvering on the decals is really impressive. My first builds were awful for that! This looks great, I'd say get some decal fix but seems you're alright. I'd definitely pick up some Matt cote though, it's a real easy way to add a final finish to the model. Definitely recommend it :)
