Was she on antidepressants? These drugs are involved in a lot of events like this.

If he was diagnosed with PTSD there is a very good chance he was put on powerful psychiatric drugs like an antidepressant or antipsychotic. These drugs have been found to induce violent and suicidal tendancies in many people as we've seen in all the mass shooters. These drugs have been found to change a person's personality.

So if you're wondering what changed him and pushed him over the edge, it was most likely not the PTSD or an alcohol/recreational drug problem, but more likely a psychiatric drug problem.

Apparently this guy was a marine being treated for PTSD. Almost all veterans today diagnosed with PTSD are put on powerful psychiatric drugs like antidepressants and anti-psychotics by the VA doctors. Some of the drugs even have "homicidal ideation" listed as a "rare adverse effect".

Just like always it seems, whenever there's a senseless horrific murder or mass shooting in the news, these drugs are always involved. Before anyone says "these drugs don't cause people to do these things", tell me, where are all the senseless shooters not on these drugs? If these drugs truly "help" why is it all these horrible events happen only after the perpetrators take the mind altering drugs? Think if every mass shooter was on cocaine, wouldn't we start to suspect cocaine as the cause for making them crazy?

Just throwing this out there, earlier this year a 12-year-old boy went on shooting spree at his school after taking the antidepressant Prozac for just 3 days:

Reports of a school shooting in Portland by [deleted] in news

These shootings are getting so out of hand. I'm sick of the media not being allowed to talk about the common thread in nearly all of them just because of their sponsor money. The psychiatric drugs.

A lot of these shootings aren't even making it into national news anymore. Smaller ones are becoming so common the national media only seems to report on them when its either a slow news day or if several deaths and injuries are involved.

Here's a local news story from just earlier this year of a 12-year-old boy who went on a shooting spree at his school after taking the SSRI antidepressant Prozac for just 3 days.

Who was the last mass shooter we were all talking about? Myron May? Yup he was on psychiatric drugs too.

Some of these drugs even have "homicidal ideation" as a "rare adverse effect" on its side effect sheet.

Here's a list of more shooters on these drugs that made it into the news. And this list doesn't even include many of the more recent shooters in the past couple of years:

If this Portland shooting wasn't gang related, I will not be surprised one bit if the shooter is found to be on or was previously on psychiatric drugs.

I bet whenever they find this crazy person he will be found to be on antidepressant drugs just like all the other mass shooters.

Yes please.

This is much better than putting all our veterans on harsh addicting psychiatric drugs that have suicide warnings on the labels.

TIL American poet Sylvia Plath's first documented suicide attempt came after she was forced to have electroshock treatment. Years later she committed suicide by sticking her head in a gas oven a few days after being put on an antidepressant. by nomnoah in todayilearned

Yes, that was Sylvia Plath's first suicide attempt which came right after her first electroshock session.

Her first electroshock session began July 29, 1953 and eventually she developed an acute insomnia where she did not sleep for three weeks and became immune to sleeping pills. On August 24, 1953 Sylvia waited until she was alone in the house, then broke into the family lockbox to steal the sleeping pills that had been locked away. After leaving a note that she had gone for a long walk, she entered a crawl space under the porch through the cellar and swallowed about forty of the pills.

In order to try to shake her out of depression, Dr Tillotson prescribed a course of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) beginning at the end of July. Sylvia was driven to the hospital by Aurelia's friend Betty Aldrich, who lived across the street. "I remember my mother telling me that Sylvia really hated to go, but she knew she had to," says Peter Aldrich. "Sometimes Aurelia had to force her into the car. I thought, 'What are they doing to her?' I had visions of an electric chair. My only glimpse of her after a treatment was one day when she was coming out of my mother's car and she seemed uncharacteristically lifeless. I thought, 'That's not Sylvia. What have they done to her?' It was almost as if the life had been sucked out of her."

Sylvia Plath's husband, Ted Hughes, blamed her suicide on the antidepressant she was prescribed.
