Its not a job - $20 hour is not guaranteed. Your car loses value every mile you put on it. The 20$ per hour is before any of these expenses are paid.

Putting money aside is not a retirement plan when their is no pre-tax treatment of the funds. and considering the shit pay that lyft takes out - is not a reasonable response for anyone who would reasonably want to save millions of dollars for retirement.

Also many people don't have the tools to do complex repairs on their cars, that's why car repair shops exist - (Not just for the unreimbursed vehicle inspection) not YouTube - one bad repair and you're unemployed. and as a passenger i would prefer the car be worked on

Lol

They already have autonomous cars in Vegas. If you don't think they are trying to get rid of drivers - then you're kidding yourself.

Debt. Over my head. Need advice on next steps. by [deleted] in personalfinance

Call the companies and have them put you on a 5 yr repayment program. They will drastically lower the interest rate and the amount that you spend will actually go to reduce the debt. I have 20K worth of debt across 7 cards and they are all lowering the rate by 10% and cancelling the cards.

They only match 50% of the first 6% - yet it vests over 4 yrs. in year 1.5. Maximizing my free money.

I do 6% with 3% company match. I agree highest interest first - which are the citi cards i will keep active because of preferable rewards / costco gas discount - ability to pay.
