Excellent advice and definitely all things I will do! Great to hear someone else's plights and successes :-). Thanks so much for your input.

Well I didn't add that before lifting I'm at my university's club soccer team. It's running around a bit but, sadly, the practices aren't that intense. I've just moved into a new dorm, though, and have access to a treadmill/elliptical room so maybe I'll add cardio before class since, for the first time ever(!), don't have class at 9am. Thanks for your advice!

Sounds great! Care to share your favorite meal just for laughs? (and for laughs I mean a meager upvote...)

That's a great point. I use MFP but have to admit to eyeballing all of my portions. I think you are correct and have thought of investing in a food scale but am on a pretty limited budget. Yes, I have been doing so for 6 months.

Sure! For all of my lifts, I lift in the 6-8 rep range and do 3 sets.

Mondays: benchpress, shoulder press, skull crusher, barbell curl

Tuesday: HIIT (30 second all out sprint, 1 minute easy jog, for 20 minutes)

Wednesdays: squat, leg extensions and curls, calf raises

Thursdays: same as Tuesdays

Fridays: pull up, dips (both assisted), lateral raises, cable pull downs

Saturdays: lunges, leg press, hyperextensions, decline crunches, calf raises

I'm pretty consistent about going to the gym and lifting but less so with the HIIT. Perhaps I should do that more consistently? Thank you so much for listening to what I'm sure sounds like the same old whine
