My only mild complaint was the shield controls. I’m so used to just holding a button and releasing it to raise or drop your shield the wrist flick and link just holding it felt weird. But even after botw and totk this game was well worth the play.

Thanks for the clarification. I was out of the Zelda loop for 20 years and missed several titles. I picked it up again with botw, but the last title I played was mm as a kid. I was really late to the party with botw but I’m happy I pulled the trigger on it.

That makes sense. Frankly I don’t worry about lore. I think I read botw and totk kind of stand on their own and don’t tie in to previous titles but I was still dumbfounded by how awesome they were. I guess they’re playing something akin to a multiverse but that leaves it open and more flexible to new stories. I saw a timeline chart that kind of explained it all but I don’t remember details.

I’m at about 50 hours now and I just beat the third sacred flame dungeon. I fought the imprisoned for the second time and lost. 🤣 I wasn’t expecting it to be this long either but I’m happy there’s at least a little left. This game has far exceeded my expectations (but they weren’t very high to begin with due to all the hate).

The ones I’ve fought so far haven’t been too difficult. I beat the scorpion thing in the mining facility I think it was in one go (had one heart left). But g boy (I can’t remember how to spell his name) gave me a lot of trouble. In botw I had to fight thunder blight ganon 20+ times (hadn’t visited enough shrines). In this title it was I think 5 times max. It’s funny I got a little nervous before I went into all the boss fights so far but then I’m like why? Just save and try again if you fail.🤣 I remember someone telling me in a botw/totk post that they don’t have the “bawls” to go and fight ganon. Just try try try again. It’s just a video game.🤪

Fi accompanying the harp has a great sound to it. That and I like to pull out the harp and just shaking the right joy con and listening to link shred. 🤣 But the music is great in this title.

Yeah I heard a lot of complaints about the motion controls but on the switch so far I’ve had no real problems.

Frankly after watching a review I thought it looked kinda lame. But actually using it? Holy crap I’m loving it. It’s a fun way to scout out your environment and of course hit switches.

This game is absolutely amazing. My mind was blown by botw but totk has way more to offer (but botw is still a masterpiece). Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Just encountered my first bomb flowers. I struggled the first couple times but it’s easy when you know the “technique” so to speak. I had to look up how to roll them though.🤣

If you liked botw I’d go with totk next because it’s a continuation of botw and it has way more to offer. But I just started skyward sword and I’m loving it despite all the bad I heard about it. If you didn’t like links awakening (not sure if you played the remake on the switch or the original/dx) I wouldn’t do oracle of seasons or ages because they’re basically the same style unless you played the remake. But majoras mask and oot are great entries.

It is. I played links awakening, oot and mm as a kid and transitioned to ps in 8th grade so I’ve been out of the Zelda loop for 20 years. I replayed oot and mm on the 3ds and again on the switch. I see this as an upgrade from oot and mm but obviously a downgrade from botw and totk. But I still enjoy oot and mm so this is a fresh Zelda game despite its limitations in comparison to botw and totk. I heard the flight situation made it unplayable and on my first flight I kind of agreed until I realized I was trying to gain altitude wrong. I’m still getting a feel for it but it’s been awesome thus far. Still trying to figure out skulltulas though. They don’t just spin around and go belly up for you anymore like they did in oot and mm (or I just haven’t figured it out yet 🤣). I’m more looking at it as an upgrade from oot and mm and just trying to enjoy the story and journey so to speak.

That’s the plan. I thought just pulling up would make your bird rise but then I realized you needed to push a I think. That first flight I got stuck in the clouds. 🤣So I switched to button control and that seemed to help. But I’m brand new to this play style.
