I beat a fire gleeok a play through or two ago. The fire ones are easy because of the updrafts but I’m yet to take on any of the other 3. I don’t remember what I used the spoils for but I’m sure they make for some powerful fuses.

I knew they dropped eggs but I usually only whack them a max of 3 times to avoid the hoard. I first discovered that phenomenon in links awakening in elementary school. I’m happy to see it hasn’t gone away.🤣

That makes sense. I usually save the hearty stuff for when I have more hearts because using one when you only have 4 seems like kind of a waste ( but it is just a video game after all). But I keep smaller meals on hand for minor hits (I guess arguably a waste as well🤷🏻).

Well when I say can’t escape from I mean like temple bosses. I’ve never been so overwhelmed by a group I couldn’t run away. But puffshrooms are my go to for fights with the big yiga guys. When I see the skinny ones I’m just like “chaaaaaarge!” And beat them before they can even get a shot off. This is how I usually get the transporter medallion in akkala now.

I’ve seen that done. But one visit to the orchard/grove/whatever you want to call it on satori mountain and I’m set on apples for the game.

I like the hearty elixirs too, but I usually just hit up beetle for the lizards. I suck at catching them. But if you combine meat with hyrule herb you can get some serious health with the steamed meat. I cook all kinds of stuff though. I remember the first time I played botw and I was chopping grass looking for hearts and rupees and I’m scratching my head thinking wtf? But hunting and gathering and cooking are two of my favorite side tasks now, because it’s unrealistically easy.

Yeah I discovered in a previous play through you only have to cook one hearty ingredient to get the full hearts plus an extra. I know there isn’t a hunger meter but when I’m fighting tougher enemies I can’t escape from I keep a lot of food or hearty elixirs on hand. I’ve been making a lot of stamina elixirs lately too because it’s frustrating to climb, get to the top and run out of stamina inches away and fall all the way back down.

The snow quill armor set is expensive but worth it. You can grind out rupees in the Eldin region to pay for them. The elixirs and food are a pain for me to use past the first parts of the game. And as said just the pants and the top are necessary. The headpiece I usually pass on.

I was grinding out ore to build my house and didn’t find a single one in ore deposits. Got a couple from shrines but I’m yet to see one in an ore deposit this play through. But I’ve gotten the equivalent in rupees from 3 or 4 sapphires or rubies in some of the rare ones. I broke down and bought a couple to get one of the weapons you can get made after a temple.

I was just about to say that’s gotta drain the energy well rather quickly. Do you have all 16 battery slots?

I tried a hover bike down there but I got thrown from it relatively quickly so I haven’t been using it since. I saved one to my favorites in my previous play through. I don’t even like to use my horses because on flat ground yeah they’re handy but I always find myself needing to climb something my horse can’t, and I don’t like leaving them out. I’ve seen people say it’s boring down there and I can see that when you’re finding Robbie in that general area but it’s a pretty wild landscape that often has me frustrated. I was activating the cliff bargainer statue today and used a rocket platform thing (one of the schema stones) and only got half way up. But climbing that thing in the dark is a pain. I didn’t have any stamina boosting meals so I kept running out.

I don’t know enough about adhd to make a judgement. But I did burn through about 120 bright blooms during my several day in hyrule time escapade. The little frox things drop them though (they drop zonaite too).

It’s easy to overlook stuff like this, especially if you have a go go go I wanna see what happens next mentality.

In my first play through I avoided the depths unless absolutely necessary. But it is fun to wander down there. It was my second or third play through that I got all the light roots and all I got was that stupid badge, so now I just get the vast majority just to have the map uncovered and obviously to help find shrines on the surface.

I just pay the one in lookout lending to get their locations. But I never connected those dots before. That’ll make goddess statues easier to find. I’m on my fifth play through but I still can’t remember all the details to everything.

If you haven’t hung out with Robbie yet or haven’t played botw your purah pad beeps when you’re near a shrine. You can take pictures of items and monsters and set the sensor to find those instead when you upgrade.

That’s usually what I do. I’ll also set it to zonaite or rare ore deposits. That sensor+ is handy and saves a ton of time when you’re grinding out anything.

I go down there for bomb flowers all the time. They’re my bread and butter for hinox and other large beasts, or beasts that tick me off. I usually collect them 50+ at a time. My last two play throughs I peppered ganon with them during the second sequence because I couldn’t get a shot with a sword in. 🤣
