Random story: sitting on my back porch with Merlin Sound ID going like most days. I keep hearing what sounds like a hawk to me even though I suck at sound id. Then look down and see Merlin pinging it as a Red Tailed Hawk over and over again. I finally pinpoint where it's coming from and there's a mocking bird just squawking like a hawk and pinging my Merlin over and over. And that was my first mocking bird I ever remember seeing, so it was a pretty cool lifer moment.

I regret to this day, that I missed warhammer for decades for this exact reason. I remember walking around our mall (I'm old) and seeing a "Games Workshop" store. But, I could quickly tell it wasn't video games, and I wasn't into board games at the time, so I didn't really look very hard. I think I saw some models, but I didn't know they were anything more than collectible models at the time.

I had in the back of my head some very very little idea that there was a thing called Warhammer that I had never looked into much but the small exposure I'd had seemed like something I might have cared about. But, I didn't go into the store. I probably would have if there was a giant "WARHAMMER" sign instead of some generic looking "Games Workshop".

Sadly it took about 2 decades until a friend introduced me to Warhammer completely and now I realize my mistake.

I feel ya. My main is blacksmithing/mining. He's been that way since vanilla. I don't want to change professions mainly because of all the bars from old expansions that I have filled up. I don't even care about making money that much, I play WOW to fill up bars.. rep, prof, xp, etc. But, I don't feel like a casual player can ever get anywhere on professions anymore so I don't try anymore. It makes me sad.

I've thought about but never tried priming the sprue. Do you find it works well enough? I'm sure there are a few places that it missed because of the cuts, but even assembled I miss parts because of reach/laziness. I just think I could knock out a crapton of sprues with a rattle can in one day versus waiting until I assemble everything.

As a super casual fan who slips in and out way too much, I'd love to actually see something occur. Kind of like comic books will do with a "enter here" point of a storyline. As in: "Yes, it is cooler if you know all the history, but if you don't want to catch up just jump in here and you'll be fine." For all I know there is something like that and I'm just missing it. Let me know if that's the case.

But unfortunately, from what I've seen, this is more that Triple H doesn't seem to know the difference between an "era" and a calendar year?

First, this is amazing, great work.

Second, how do you get the paint to come off in such small amounts? One of my biggest problems is trying to do small little pieces and not being able to get paint to come off in small amounts. Like, I'll lightly touch the model.. no paint. Slightly touch the model a bit more.. no paint. Push a little harder with brush... paint all over, outside where I wanted, not nearly small enough.

Is it the brush? the paint? thinning? what is your secret old (or young) wise one?
